well i know it was a crazy topic, the thing is after i sold the car here i am with a conundrum,
I have a loooong trip ahead of me and i dont really want to (and i doubt its legal) put earphones in my helmet
So here is the idea, i am thinking of wiring my car stereo deck from the grand prix into the scoot, maybe one 6X9 in the middle nicely inserted, or maybe two 3" speakers. since it has the amp in the deck and the scoot has a 12 volt system i dont see this being an issue, if the scoot will be strong enough to run an impact wrench, a air compressor, AND my gps and cell im sure it can handle a radio
this is just a topic starter ill have more info later, i know its down to the wire but when you realize there is still much to be done, this is a perfect time, (the dash has to come off to put the 12v plugs in to run the accessories anyway)

You might have issues with the charging system, over the long haul. Your just using the impact wrench and the air compressor for a short period of time. The GPS and the Cell Phone don't draw very much current. Kinda depends on how many amps the radio draws. Good luck.

hmmm yeah i never thought of that, i was thinking it wouldnt be that much since the deck is not factory but its also not one of those souped up annoying rap machines either, hmmmm ill have to check on the current output of the radio

My little stereo was drawing 1.5-2 amps max, and closer to 1A where I listened to it. It would maintain the battery and everything worked fine. I'm not sure how much farther you can go. The car stereo receiver is probably going to draw 5-10A. You can check the fuse on the back to see what it could potentially max at, and there's a way to test actual draw in the link below with my stereo stuff. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=igneleclight&action=display&thread=1416If you can figure out a headphone setup it'll save you a lot of trouble and probably sound better at highway speeds. If you do end up with a speaker setup, keep it as high as possible (close to your ears) and aimed at you. It makes quite a big difference from my experience.
