Has anyone ran a 160 kit on a GY6 with the A9 cam? Have you had clearance issues? It works great on my 150, but due to base gasket failure that can't be repaired, i may as well get the 160 and go a lil bigger 🙄

I have a 61mm big bore kit, 172, and no issues at all with an a9 cam. My head is not stock, however. It's the same manufacturer as the cylinder. Before you mix and match you should check the clearance. Problem with these Chinese scooters, mainland China, is that's it's not plug and play.

Yeah, im gonna test with play doh on the valves. As well as port the head with some strong valve springs so hopefully we wont have any floating where the piston gets smacked. Was just wondering if anyone had any obvious problems before me. It says 58.5mm, is that a 160? Or a 155? I thought the 160 was 60mm

Yeah that's a 155cc. Never seen a 60mm, although they may have them. Sellers like rounding up, a lot. A 61mm is a 171 point something with the stock stroke. Try the A9, I like mine. But it doesn't take off till your on up in the powerband. Get a cheap tach, if you don't have one. Make sure you accelerate, wide open, between 6500 and 7500 rpm. If not adjust the roller weights. Better springs are a good idea. I've seen stock ones break with a different cam.

Here's what I'm running at the moment. A 172cc. Make sure you check the valve clearance. I don't know if an A9 will clear a stock piston and head.

Daaaamn thats clean! I compared it to my stock piston, wristpin holes lined up, theyre the same height as far as i can tell. And the valve reliefs are at least twice the size, both in size and depth. I don't think ill have issues, while my old setup only topped 6700rpm, there was no valve contact. And i got some pretty stiff springs. I wanna get the polini clutch and a lighter clutch bell at some point. Gonna port the head as well, so it should let that cam breathe

Ohhh boy. May have to cut valve reliefs after all. The black ring is the unused part of the cylinder. Compared to the new one.....i smell too much compression for my weak ass to kick 😂

Let me go look at some of my old stock cylinders. Looks about normal to me Big. I looked at one of mine and with just a 60mm bore a stock head should be ok, as far as compression ratio goes. Run high octane to be sure.

Run high octane to be sure. I put it all together and kicked it over a few times, and theres no damage on the valves or piston. Im just worried about at higher rpms the valves hitting the piston due to the way smaller gap between them.
