ok real quick got scoot baja sc150 got 10 days till i leave for big trip (see sig link for details) scoot is at shop for idle and jet adjustment, but shop wont get to it until NEXT WEEK, so it falls on me (With your help to fix this) here is what its doing EXACTLY scoot starts right up and revs up in the engine, if i have it on the side stand it will almost try to pull itself forward off the side stand, if i am sitting on it and ease off the seat it will try to slide out from under me. If i goose the throttle a few times while its sitting there the idle will come wayyyy down, but the moment i start it after i stop it goes back to this behavior things i tried turning down idle on carb letting scoot warm up completely putting it on center stand and trying to adjust jetting i dont believe the scoot is bad, but this problem needs to be addressed asap, tomorrow ill put on the stems and also install the 12 volt into the scoot ANYONE at all lets put the thinking caps on, if i have to remove the carb i will, i doubt its the valves,

dont ever start it on the kickstand always on the center stand.
so even after its warmed up it still idles high? adjust the idle at the carb when its warm and i mean ride it first. I always crank mine on the center stand and let it warm up, when the back tire stops spinning i ride on...takes about 30-45 seconds on mine.

hmm thanks guys, as for the post about the throttle im very sure its not the throttle being pulled back, and that rubber boot is where it should be (when i got the scoot it had lots of slack in thr throttle) and i tightened it up properly, nothing is pulling down there but ill DOUBLE check it
as for letting it crank on the center stand ill see about that as well, ill get the scoot from the shop tomorrow and report back here with what i got, if its an air leak i cant begin to guess where since EVERY HOSE is brand new
as for removing the egr.pats whatever system no one ever told me the PROPER way to remove it all, there is a lot of stuff, its on teh valve cover, it goes to the air filters, it goes to that black canister
i caount like 6 lines and some metal stuff that would have to come off and i have no clue where to begin with that

LMFAO! I was wondering the same thing. My thought on the matter? Cover all the bases that you can think of. If you feel comfortable disassembling the carb, go right ahead. It's not difficult to do. The scoot is brand new, but as you have seen, not everything that gets to the stores from China are on the up and up.

ive been working carb'd engines of all kinds for 20+ years and never once have i seen a new gummed up carb...much less a new gummed up carb causing a high idle. its out of adjustment and/or has a vacuum leak. Take it apart to learn about how it works, not to fix this problem because it wont.

Take it apart to learn about how it works, not to fix this problem because it wont. speedy i know all about how the carb functions, my old scoot had much carb taking apart lessons i learned alot I wasnt going to take it apart to fix idle persay, more because i heard these things come packed with something for shipping and sometimes that needs to be cleaned out ( i dont know if this is true or not) btw that link you gave me i never saw the first page but the second one i read once, the first page is very helpful the only issue is whenever i try to "adjust the carb" i am supposed to hear the idle get higher or lower, but no matter how much i twist that fuel screw the idle doesnt change, at least i dont think it does lol ill try all of this tomorrow, yeah like the other poster said it is a NEW SCOOT but that doesnt mean i want to tinker with the carb anymore lol, its not exactly the highlihgt of my day!

Never heard anything like that on the inside of a carb before much less seen it and if it did, the motor wouldn't run at all. i asked why you are going to take the carb apart, you said because it doesnt idle right, then you said you arent going to take it apart with the intention of fixing the idle. You said you dont want to tinker with the carb anymore, but you plan to take it apart. make up your mind
