I used to do quite a bit of modding and other work on scooters years ago (2012ish) and at the time there were a lot of parts suppliers... It seems like everyone has closed up shop or their type\amount of parts has drastically been reduced.
Just wondering if there was some big event or reason for that.

Most of the scooters they make parts for are no longer made, or not made in the same numbers they used to, or have entirely different power plants.

Euro 3/4 here has had a dramatic effect. No more two strokes. Things like the Gilera runner 50/125/180 used to keep PM Tuning and shiny red tuning in business. Now it's all classic 60's or modern vespa stuff. There are very little Piaggio two strokes left. And Yamaha went four stroke about 3 years ago. No supply, equals no demand. A lot of kids would put bigger cylinders and exhaust on a two stroke. But with the complexity, and little gains to be had. Don't bother now. The latest Vespa models need a new fuel management system to do anything.

Good to see you again Theo. Importing regulations and lack of interest seems to be a lot of the problem in the US more than any certain incident that I know of.

Ill write a story about my scooter failures and other mis adventures when I get a chance. I am still kicking myself for selling you that Leo Vince GP pipe. That thing was beautiful.

Looked a million bucks when Brent polished it. 😁
