hello all ive got a question.well i have a tao tao 50 and all runs good but yesterday on a 90 mile trip back home it would go top speed maybe 40 mph but then all of a sudden id hear a whining noise and it would start to slow it self down.now if i let off the throttle for a minute and then cranked it back up it would run good .now i thought maybe it was cause i had the bike running for like an hour straight wide open i dont know but after i got home and let it sit for a few hours it dosent do it .has anyone had this problem or knows what it might be thanks

These 50's aren't made for long trips at wide open throttle. Hell, the 150's aren't either. They only hold .85 quarts of oil in there. I suggest you change the oil(s) and in the future try to take it easy on it. It's a glorified lawn mower engine. It's not a touring bike. www.scooterforumonline.com/index.php/topic,1959.0.html
