there is also a small 3rd ring, the first 2 regular ones and one "octogon-ish" ring, seems to be a spring mechanism to make one of the rings press on the cylinder wall good, my question is if this extra pressure ring goes under the top ring closest to the head or the bottom one by the crakshaft?

so, i got it all put together now and running, but with a few snags... i did all the testing and i cant seem to figure out what jetting to use!?! so far im up to 104+- and it rund decent but the plug still is un effected, its always grey? its a br8hs gapped to .028+- so should be fine? another possibly related issue is: every time i get it warmed up and start riding around, it starts getting comfy and i open it up, then after about 30 seconds to a min it "siezes up" it will be hauling balls then all the sudden vrrrrrrrrrr- ummmmmmmmmmm puhhh! then it grinds to a halt with the engine turned off. when i crank it after it sounds nasty, like the piston got all swollen up. i was going to see what was the relevance of the higher rpm clutch springs? cuz it seemed like the noise came from the rear of the cvt like the clutch locked up, but then again it is a scrappy dog cylinder, maybe the machine work was done by an enslaved ape and it just isint as it should be, i did notice when i built it that the top portion of the cylinder was opened up more letting the piston move freely but when it slid to the bottom it would jam a bit.... i dunno what to do next and im getting frustrated. if anyone has ideas as what to try next let me know.

104 is a big jet, but a 28mm is a big carb. I'd say try a larger jet. The symptoms sound like a soft seize to me.

ive noticed it back fires like crazy also, could that be caused by too much oil in the fuel?
