I got an email newsletter from MonsterGY6.com about their new products, including 180cc GY6s already together, and customizable. Sounds pretty cool, so I went to check it out. WOW! The price tag on these bad boys seems a little nuts to me. The have a $1200 base price, and if you decide to add all the upgrades listed to the package you can crank it up to $1576. Standard Features : 63mm Cylinder Kit 63mm Cylinder Head Aluminum Intake Manifold 8 Pole Stator & Fly Wheel OEM Starter Motor Velocita Performance Variator & Fan Velocita Performance Clutch 1500rpm Clutch Springs 1500rpm Main Spring Powerlink Belt monstergy6.com/product_motors.htmIt's cool that you can get performance crate motors, but do they really need to cost more than a lot of the scooters they'll be bolted to? You can pick up a standarg 150cc GY6 for $400 or less. I guess it comes down to labor charges and profit on all the add-ons. Just another reason to learn how to build your own engines IMO!

That other company in Kansas was doing them for awhile. Not sure of their prices either, and now their name slips my mind.

What kind of life can you expect to get out of a 180cc GY6? I've been wondering about that. Is it like putting an 80 or 85cc kit in a QMB139? Runs like hell but only for a couple thousand miles! If thats so then it's definitely not worth it! Has anybody gotten any decent mileage out of a 150cc with that size piston and jug?

Converted my Loncin 125cc to the 180cc kit. Wish I never did. Ran sweet for a month or two and I've been have serious issues ever since.

From what I've been told the down side to a large stroker motor is the bearing seats in the case can wear out and allow the bearings to spin and shift about. Nick at KS Power and myself have been working together for the last four years on this stuff. Trust me its a lot more work than you think to make one of these motors happen, hence the price tag. Hard learned tricks, and experience are what make a great motor builder, I have my doubts about GY6"otherstores".

I only drooled for a second there As a 150cc rider, if I had that kind of money I would be looking for a reliable 250cc-300cc scooter. The upgrade would be for the fun and challenge in itself, if I did it myself. I have the M endorsement already, so It's not the same as when you guys up the 50cc's to keep it inside that 50cc frame, and slip through the registration issues of a higher cc scooter. So not worth the cost to me. I can understand the cost, but it wouldn't make sense to me.
