engine breakin

okay so been awhile. piston rings finnally went totally bad on my scoot so i had to sent it to a shop to have the engine rebuilt ( cylinder, piston, rings, head ) i have the scoot at home sittin in the garage because the las vegas police released a video on the news the other day called operation " moped reminder " and they put a video on the morning news telling all moped riders cought going over 30 mph will be ticketed and towed if there not registered insured and you have the m endorsment on your license so im leaving it put til i get it all for i all ready got a ticket for no license reg or insurance a few weeks ago. now i dont wanna leave it just sitting in my garage without starting it for a min or two everyday but the mechanic that installed it said he doesnt see the engine lasting very long if i ride it with no exhaust like i have been so i wanna know if starting it for a few minutes everyday even without the exhaust will hurt it? im ordering a exhaust tomorow

I assume he think you're going to burn a valve? I think it'll be fine for what you're doing, just getting the fluids flowing for a minute. Here's more info...

Good luck with your M endorsement. It'll be worth the trouble to ride how you want without worry. It'll be cheaper than amassing fines too.

Both of those links point to the same place. If you want an aftermarket exhaust, that looks like a great price to me. If all that's wrong with your other exhaust is the header you can probably just replace it.
