I shouldn’t be allowed to look at Craigslist. I found the ad around 1PM and by 4 PM, I had it unloaded. It is complete with all plastics. It needs a good cleaning, a seat latch, new gas cap, and fresh fuel. Judging from the varnish smelling gas, I think it’s been a long time since this ran last. Compression feels extremely low. Pics will be added after work. I cannot wait to get working on this one! The plan is to keep this one stock looking and quiet. I may have to follow Zino ‘s stealthy build 😉  |

Small update.
I flushed the nasty gas tank.
Cleaned the heck out of the carb. I couldn't read the old MJ, so I threw in a 74.
New fuel filter.
Deleted oil injection. I am now running 93 octane with 40:1 oil mix.
Found a spare seat latch from my other Venice! ( It pays to have the same model.)
Fully stock, I clocked 36.8 MPH.
Next step is to remove the wedding ring, change nothing else and see what she does!

I removed the wedding ring and gained 2.1MPH. Not bad for 20 minutes work.
New top speed is 38.9MPH.

I contacted the original owner, whom I sold it back to, and purchased the scoot back! Current setup: 70cc Contessa Yasuni R ( or Z, I can't remember ) Stock carb(!) Stock Airbox Bug-eye rear pulley, yellow contra, yellow clutch springs, NCY secondary pulley Stock Variator Currently running a little hot ( I saw a max temp of 366 riding WOT ) before I pulled off to a side street. Once it was out of WOT, it hung around 300-320 just riding around neighborhoods. I upped the 82 mj to an 86. We'll see how that goes. Max RPM: 9800 Otherwise, this scoot is pretty happy! No other plans for this one. |
