Apologies if this is covered elsewhere. I looked & didn't see it. I want to replace the stock rear turn signals on my project IceBear. The LED ones look cool and they're cheap. Can I just wire them into the existing 12v situation, or do I need a special resistor or controller? I've always been kinda sketchy with electrics. Appreciate any help. -DJ-

Could go either way. Sometimes they work OK with stock flashers and sometimes they don't. Sometimes just having an incandescent indicator is enough that they work or if you only swap front or rear and not both. Some signals (usually only expensive ones I think) have resistors built in so they plug and play. I've bought sets of signals for about $30/pair on amazon that included resistors and were good quality.
I never bother with resistors though. I just replace the turn signal flasher with one that's intended for LEDs. I never use the 2 wire or 2 prong. Tried that in the past and it didn't work, so I always get one with 3 wires. EXAMPLE
Appreciate the info. I guess I'll find out. I ordered these, they should arrive tomorrow: LED TURN SIGNALS
Update: they work great with no extra resistor or special flasher needed. I just cut off the old incandescent lamps and spliced these in. I really like the look.
