is western union a safe way to get paid??

So Im hoping someone can help me out with info from some personal experiences with western union. Heres the thing: An interested person wants to buy some scooter parts from me. I live in sc; he's from IN and wants to pay Via western union. I have never fooled with it and not sure how it works or what not.

I hear of all these craigslist scams and Im hoping this isnt one of them cuz I need to sell these parts! I did talk with the person over the phone, so thats a plus.

Has anyone had a bad experience ?

Make sure you actually collect the money before you send the goods.

Is it a safe way to get paid, yes. Is it a safe way to pay people, no.

Yes. You have to find the nearest W.U. outlet and go there and show your ID and they give you the cash. Most Check cashing joints have W.U.

Like Ishigham said, get the money before you ship the goods.
