I know I havent been on in a bit...I had the lanai 50 2 stroke...I painted it camo...some of you may remember...well it blew up, and I decided to rebuild...I must say the rebuild is easy as long as they send you rhe right parts...LOL but I still have a problem. I put new piston, crank, and seals in ....new variator, starter clutch and so on..the old crankshaft was a larger diameter spline than the new..hence the replacing the cariator and such. I noticed the squish was a little taller than before...before the piston cam almost all the way to the top of the cylander...now its about 1/4 inch below...and that may be my problem...if it is, then I have some thinner gaskets I can put in to change that....NOW, after all that, here is my problem...the scoot fired up on the FIRST KICK, as soon as I primed the carb, and shot some gas into the intake...it fired right up. It started, and died a few times...and then roareed to life, with a decent idle for a scoot that been sitting dead for 4 months....but it wont take any gas...and when it does, I can rev it all the way...but the idle doesnt go up any...i cant even get the rear tire to turn over with it on the center stand...lol I have the carb apart, and soaking..but everything looked clean...is there something else I should check? or am I on the right track...I am getting blue smoke....and I have the air filter on, and have the carb set at the initial settings for tunning. I let the bike set and idle for an hour...and it sat there purring away...but as soon as I try to give it gas, it either dies, or wont rev up much at all....thanks everyone, and hope to be riding again soon.
