first q. yesterday morn my scoot (TNG LS49 1e40qmb) started, ran for a few minutes and died. i restarted and it ran for half a minute and died and would not start from then on. it ran fine the day before and started up when i returned from work and ran fine. i'm thinkin stuck float in carb? 2nd q. i looked at my variator and saw the wear pattern on the pulley from the belt. it stopped short of the outer edge by 1/4". is that a good indication the variator has a restrictor washer in it? if not what can be done to get the pulleys to come together more so the belt runs on a larger dia.? i'm trying to squeek some performance without going mod crazy. thanx.

hey thanx for the answers. always helpful. i guess i'm taking my carb apart this weekend. as for the variator mod i read you saw none or less belt travel after filing the pulley. could it be the stock angle on the face of the pulley changed and no longer matched the belt angle? would this also be cause for less contact area between belt and pulley? maybe thats why u never saw the marker disappear. i drew a really cool illistration on paint but i dont know how to post it in this reply.

ahhh, you only blended the area at the center. i get it now. as for the attachment thing below the subject line, it seems to be missing for me. it goes subject, message icon, add tags. if i go to the thread you left for me and i click on reply i see the attachment window. the page i'm typing on now dose'nt have it.

Ah. Thank you for posting that. After you said that I went and checked and somehow I had disabled attachments in this section for all but staff so I never noticed. Should work now.
