:welcome:
Do you have an alarm/remote start on your trike? I think some of those will only run for a certain amount of time if you start it with remote start. Might work like that in other cases?

Yeah I've seena thread where the stator was bad and it did exactly what yours is doing. Might as well get a new regulator too cause if there's one thing I've learned about these Chinese scoots is that you never know until you know. One time I fixed a scooter that had a bad reg. and stator at the same time. It gave me fits for about a 1/2 an hour and I finally stumbled on the cure. I'm no Genius by any means.

Im with Fox on this as well, I have seen heat cause some stators and other electronics to do whacky things when hot. If it were me i would go Stator and regulator to start with also.

Stator requires a $30 impact from Harbor Freight to remove the nut on the flywheel and a 24mmx1mm right hand thread flywheel puller tool. www.harborfreight.com/12-volt-1-2-half-inch-emergency-impact-wrench-92349.html You thread the puller into the flywheel and then hold back on it with a wrench and turn the inner shaft with another wrench or socket and it pulls the flywheel off. Pics below: Sometimes the flywheel is stubborn. In that case DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE PULLER! Just build up a good amount of force, and then tap on the end of the puller's inner shaft with a ball peen hammer or a brass hammer. Don't kill it! The vibrations will sometimes break the thing free. You don't want to damage the threads on the crankshaft.
