Ok long story short. I bought a brand new engine from a website. Installed it. Fresh oil and gear oil. Bought factory air box installed it bought new carb. Install 35 pilot. Installed new fuel lines and vacuum line. Only have one going to pair system. Gas line is fed gravity. I adjusted the valves to. .004. And .005. They were basically closed from factory. New cdi, red one. New ngk spark wire. And a orange coil I have a free flow exhaust on it. Could this be cussing my problem. The air/gas mixture screw is about 3 turns out for highest idle. Also installed a new gastank. I have 2 videos I included. There like no power and it stalls after revving but it starts up with one kick. .also baffle in exists it straight sooty black. youtu.be/kL9I-WyaY9o. youtu.be/kbXLny285v4

If the old parts worked like the CDI, and carb. I would try replacing them. It's always better to get an unknown engine running in stock form first.

My old engine was bored to 72cc with uni filter and this same exuast it ran decent. But it had a problem with a crank seal. So I bought and new engine. And want everything stock. Due to getting it registered and inspected. I have many cdi’s. Orange, stock black , and red. Red seems same as stock. Orange doesn’t work. I don’t have a stock coil. Just orange one. I used with bbk. Does the engine sound normal ?

I have a new stock exaust coming in Friday. Hopefully that will help it idle better.

Also forgot to mention. If I cover the exaust. So no air gets out the scooter stays running. Is that normal?

That indicates that the mixture is too lean. Covering the intake richness up the mixture and is always a good test of the mix. 35 pilot sounds about right. I can't tell from the video which side of the carb the A/F screw is. Maybe a small leak somewhere or just a bigger pilot is what's needed.

Did not sound too bad, but I think the valve clearance could be checked again. It is kinda tappy, but that means the valves are surely seating. Not sure about the rich/lean commentary. When cold the mix should be a little rich. It should lean a bit when the engine has run for a few minutes and the byvalve closes up the airflow that bypasses the throttle. It did seem a bit hesitant to rev up. Have you checked the accelerator pump? Does the slide move freely? What does the spark plug look like after running for 10-15 minutes? Can/did you ride it at all, or does it fall on its face? or run like a top.....? tom

Only rode it once for about 5 mins. Doesn’t have much power Reva really fast to 7k then not much power. Didn’t want to go over that. Seems like it’s over reving. The plug its black around base Brown on ceramic and black and white on tip. It does backfire sometime on decal. I didn’t have a pair canister for it. So I got one off eBay and the vacuum port on it was broken so I cut off a nipple from a old intake manifold and epoxied it on the canister. Seems To work. Sprayed starting fluid on and around no leak. I do here so so ratting in cvt. Haven’t opened it up yet. Could be from cvt or near bottom end

Kind of scared to ride it not running right. Don’t want to damage engine. The slide moves fine and and I checked the accelerator pump when I cleaned out carb works fine. When I lower the idle screw below 2000 rpm I can here the engine. Make Kind like whine or a wailing sound and then runs worse , dies immedialty on decal after twist of throttle

If the chain gets out of position or does 'something', it can make a really weird noise. Would not hurt to check that is is on the guides and the tensioner is working. I think I would remove the cam cover, the tensioner, and wiggle things around, rotate a few revolutions, and watch that it can move freely without binding on something. If a guide gets out of place, it could be have a lot of contact with the chain, thus the noise. tom

Ok so I got it running better. Installed a new stock exaust. Cleaned carb again. Installed a 32 pilot. And put in a new ngk plug. Seems to be running. A lot better. Haven’t tuned carb yet. Want to find out if this tick is coming from valves being to loose. There at .004 intake. .005 exaust. Is the loud tick from valves ? And does the scooter sound ok otherwise ? Ty for all the help. Here a video. youtu.be/hlxzBS4CxTE
