First off I’ve owned and worked on 5 different 50cc smokers. The TnG Venice comes in 4th place barely beating out the Geely with the chain drive. A year ago we moved to hilly area so now the Venice just sits in the garage collecting dust. Time to give her some love. Just pulled the cylinder and all looks great but it’s in need of some more giddy up. Has a 12mm piston pin. Hoping a 70cc kit will give it some climbing power. I recently revived a Suzuki jr50 for a buddy of mine and that little thing pulled plenty hard with a grown man riding it. It gave me hope for the Venice. I’ve found a few big bore kits on the parts for scooter site. Any feedback about them. There’s a Universal parts. Naraku seems out of stock. Hoca. And SSPS I think it’s called. Thanks. Joe

The 70 cc is the ticket to fix your hill climbing the stock 50's are underpowered. I always spend more for kits Malossi Polini Athena . I've replaced alot of Knock off Kits .
The Naraku kit and DR70 gets good reviews from members .
Scootertuning and scooterpartsco dynoscooter are also vendors I use often enough. Scooter parts supplies are very spotty right now so I have to spread my purchases around .
Dexameth and Fugazily are members here and both work for Parts for Scooters You could message them .
Fugazily is the owner of parts for scooters

I'm very pleased with the DR Evolution 70, and Yasuni Z combo. Will accelerate up any hill around here up to 50mph, 55+ on flat ground. 7,500 rpm shines, and 9,000 really pulls.

Use the search function to locate TNG builds. There are a few of us that have them with a 70cc top end.
Stock, I got 40mph out of my Venice. With a 70cc + stock pipe, I’m still around 40 but way more torque.
With a 70cc + expansion chamber, I hit 47mph.

The Malossi kits are great. It's a good combination of power, longevity, and reliability

Last question before I pull the trigger. Need to spend $10 more for free shipping after the bbk little bearing and jet kit. Figured I would pick up some rollers. At present she had 5grams 15x12. Generally with the bbk do you get heavier or lighter weights? Thanks. Joe

A jet kit and small end bearing are worth adding to the list. If you are still running the standard pipe. The rollers might be ok.

Parts ordered. Time to read up on head bolt torque and squish/gaskets. Gonna use the stock head to start with and go from there. Thanks for everybody’s input. Joe

I torque mine to 8 ft lbs, then again to 10 ft lbs. A few recent members have snapped their head studs from over torquing.
The stock exhaust is the limiting factor of a 70cc kit. You probably won’t see a ton of revs which isn’t a bad thing. The stock exhaust is nice and quiet!

aeroxbud called it right a small end bearing is a must replce with a cylinder swap . A jet kit so you can up jet is a just in case .
The malossi kits are very bullet proof and are a big upgrade over stock power . You wont need to change rollers with that kit the powerband starts low like the stock cylinder it just runs a little higher .

Everything went fine in install. Got it tuned up nice. Rode it for a day and all was well. Then it starts to miss/big. Tried some fuel related stuff still misses. Had spark with 2 different cdis and coils. Still misses. Now we have no spark. Can’t for the life of me find any specs for the stator or pick up coil resistance. Any ideas or is it retail therapy time again. Thanks joe

Started testing and spark cane back. Ran perfect. WTH. Exciter gave 40 vac. My resistance started at 186 on my meter so I think something might be wrong with my tester. I’ll borrow one and get some real values. Still can’t find any specs online for this particular scooter and the owners manual just tells you how to start/ride/ change the spark plug. Hate to put it back together without some definitive answers. Thanks joe
