Hello all. I'm bringing a basket case 2005 Zuma 50 back to life. I want to get rid of the stock steel reeds. I'm not racing this thing, just want it to run. Who sells decent reeds for this scoot ?
TIA Mad

You have 3 options: - Buy plug and play aftermarket reed petals. Malossi, Polini and Stage 6 carry these. - Buy a sheet of carbon fiber reed material and cut out the petals yourself. Malossi and Polini carry these. - Buy a complete reed cage with petals. Endless possibilties, for every budget theres a solution.
Myself I'd go with option 3. Try to find them 2nd hand. Myself I've found a 2nd hand Malossi VL14 for €25. I personally wouldn't wanna spend more than that on reeds when it's just a street machine. €25 either on a 2nd hand reed cage or on new petals in a stock cage. For cutting CF sheets you need special scissors too...I assume you don't own one or have direct access too.

lucass What special scissoors do you use ? I have just used a razor blade knife when cutting reeds and then just sanded the edges.
With the malossi reed cage did you have to use the 5mm spacer ?

I don't. Over here in Holland theres an abundance of hihg end 2t scooter parts. For me theres no reason to cut my own reeds since i can go and just buy all possible variations in reed petal thicknesess (0.15-0.40mm) plug n play for malossi vl14 cage without seeking abroad. About the spacer, look up my 70mph daily driver thread. I've made a special angled spacer.
