I replaced the pads on the Scion Xb and they were rattling really bad. I went and got some Permatex brake quiet goo and put it on the back of the pads. It said nothing about drying time on the back of the package. Should I let it dry for a while, or take it for a drive and get them hot so it bonds fast?

I think they say to let it dry at least 10 or 15 minutes. By the time you finish up and get the wheels on and clean up to get in the car it'll be fine.

Thanks! The stuff on my fingers dried pretty fast. Had to use brake cleaner spray to get it off.

Took the car to PCC Motor to get some more scooter batteries and the rattle is gone!
I feel stupid kinda cause the guy at Auto Zone told me to get that stuff when I got the pads and I declined cause they didn't rattle the last time I did them so I ended up doing them twice cause I didn't listen. Live and learn...

Sods law indicates that if you had used it, they wouldn't have squeaked anyway

They didn't squeak. They were actually rattling when you were cruising with no brake applied. "Clickity clickity clickity" but yeah, I get what you're implying.
