I had my scooter start smoking and all wires melted and almost caught fire at a gas station when I stopped and turned it off. I have no clue what the eff happened but I was able to kickstart and ride home after it stopped. I ripped out wires and my dumbass didn’t know it needed to be all wired up completely to run. Now I need a new harness and it to be wired up.
What are the basics to just get it to run? Like what wires need to be connected? Is it easy to learn to wire up or should I pay someone?
I have 2017 adgility I think it’s an 80cc but not sure. Guy I bought from said he upgraded engine and it’s faster than my 06 baja sc50

Take it to the person you bought it from and see if they will rewire it. You will need a new wiring harness and the expertise to customize it.

See if you can find a schematic on the site that is near enough to use. Then check around to see if you can find a wiring harness. You may need controls and other items depending on where the short was. It will take expertise in wiring and understanding schematics as well as electrical expertise. If you can't find all of this or anyone with the required skills I would suggest scrapping the scoot for parts.

Yeah if you have no wiring troubleshooting experience it may be a lost cause. But on the other hand you won’t make it worse by trying. Basic is ignition and charging. Kinda important to know why it melted in n the first place though so you don’t spend 20-100 hours rewiring the entire thing just to have it melt again. As was noted above though, you could have fried electronics and that could be a deal breaker.

Thank you all for responding! So it was where the batter terminals met the battery. After the smoking and what not I kick started and drove home. Then I ripped out the wires and now it won’t start cus it’s missing connection. Isn’t it a simple Connection? I have most of the harness except for the battery area part. Shit hahaha I wish I knew electric more or motors and electric.

I think I'm correct in saying I would stay away from harnesses from ebay and amazon . someone correct me if I'm wrong . I just happen to think you will be lucky to find that when they advertise/sell for a given , specific model of scooter - it won't be - what it is likely to be is - different than what they describe . I would search at bonafide parts houses like Parts for Scooters. just my experience .
