Well I get home from work in Telford to a dear john letter from our esteemed Council saying so long and thanks for all the fish after working there 11yrs. I guessed it would come one day after waiting for the last two years for my contract to be renewed within 6 month's. I told my manager and she was livid and had a meeting with the heads but to no avail but through another source I do know she was warned to watch her step as she is not that high up the rung of the ladder yet and could easily slip to the bottom. I had been told by a very senior figure in the council that my existing contract was illegal so could follow that up but for all the stress it ain't worth it for the financial gain. So hopefully as one door closes another opens. Glad I got the Telford job part time that leaves me with about Ā£400 amonth after travel etc. Still there are people worse off than me. This morning I had a letter from another council dept saying my mum owes them Ā£2000 for the residential home she is in when it should come from her pension and the inept people that run it sent a letter to me to fill out which was for them to fill in when I read it which I think caused the bill. In other news the Peugeot V clic would not spark today. Even though I had the side stand up. Then I remembered the kill switch was off. š

It's tough out there Milly. Like you said you could take them to court, but is it worth it. Was the same for me when I got told to isolate by the hospital. My work wouldn't even believe the hospital letter was genuine. Had to get another one. And then they still refused to pay me anything for two months. Even though they were breaking the law by doing that. It's not worth the stress of taking them to court.
You don't have much luck with Peugeot.

No it's not worth all the hassle for very little gain our council is known for their ways even in parliament someone mentioned they were the most corrupt council they had come across. Shame though I enjoyed working with the kids and it always felt great when you get some who are really nervous about cycling or have a impairment and you get them cycling in a couple of days really empowers them and with people I know from doing events over the country can usually borrow adapted cycles for those in wheelchairs as well. As for the Peugeot that is definitely a turd covered in glitter š

Trouble always comes, it seems to be part of life. Humans don't like change for a reason. I suppose you could forward the form to the council and ask why the residential home had not filled it in but had sent it to you.
My local city government is known for being one of the most corrupt also.

I think after I have played catch up I shall sit down and re evaluate where things are going and choose something I want to do. There is not many organizations that want old farts near retirement but I been planning on a couple of things over the years so now maybe a good time to start shifting in that direction. It certainly won't be computers a conder block has more techy skills than me š

I could send them a "Dear Corrupt Assholes " letter , but I suppose that would make things worse . when you catch up , catch your breath , and re-evaluate let us know what comes your way . we're interested and with you as much as we can be .

I had to retire at 40 for medical reasons. Life has been crap since then but I have survived, I have no family or nearby friends around. You will survive though. You seem to have a wide circle of friends and family in a country that is far better than the US. There is hope for you... I keep looking at this: www.irishpost.com/news/irish-island-arranmore-looking-new-residents-united-states-167991I am 3/8 Irish and 3/8 Scott. They might like me or just kill me. After my strokes I can't learn new languages.

Milly I have been there myself. Back in 2008, after nearly 20 years with a company and it felt like the end of the world for a moment. However it turned out to be the best thing that could ever have happened to me. My brother and I ended up going into business together. Its been 10 years now, and I can honestly say I am glad it happened.
Sounds like things are already working out for you.

Thank you Paul, after following that and a carb clean the Peugeot is running. The only thing I need now is a air filter box as the hose from it to carb is a bit to short or shrunk. Anyhow might have one somewhere or eBay think last time I bought one was Ā£11.00. Sorted some of my mums government and bank stuff, daughter bought us dinner so it's off to bed now with a bug as ordered by the wife.
