Hi guys,
I'm Sebastiaan from The Netherlands and I'm nee on this forum. I'm rebuilding a Piaggio NRG Power LC from 2009.
My setup will be Stage 6 racing mk2 untuned Yasuni C16 Dellorto 21mm Malossi delta clutch and wingbell Malossi MHR variomatic Malossi e5 air filter Stock reed valve with carbon plates Top performance inlet
I am a nm little bit worried about the cooling of the engine. In my eyes the radiator is very small. Is the capicity of this radiator enough for this setup? I am thinking to put an electric 12V fan in front of the radiator.
Is it neccesary to use other end gears, With a different ratio? I am now using the stock piaggio end gears. The scooter has 13inch wheels instead of 10inch on a piaggio zip.
I hope that you guys van help me. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum. I'm not sure of the exact size of the NRG radiator, but had a very similar setup on my aerox. It was fine. It might be a good idea to get a temperature gauge. If it seems to run hot, you could fit an upgrade for the water pump. www.pedparts.co.uk/product/2236/stage6-rt-water-pump--piaggioDoesn't the NRG have 13" wheels as standard?

The rad. Of the aerox is bigger then the Piaggio rad. I already have a temprature gauge to mount in the cylinder head. I will try the stock rad first. When I have problems with over heating I can always change the rad or build a fan in front of the rad.
Yes the standard size of the wheels is 13inch. But do you think that it is neccesary to change the endgears? I don't wan't a constant wheelie scooter when i accelerate. With the 13inch wheels is this not neccesary?
I have a question about the ignition. I wan't to keep the lights and digital dashboard. I was thinking of the replacement MVT outer rotor ignition. Is this just a replacement ignition for the standard one? Is this flywheel lighter than standard? Can my original CDI and coil keep up with the 12.000rpm?

You will need a gear up kit. First check what ratio you have.
The C16 will runs out of power before 12,000 rpm. Have you removed the rev limit on your bike? All Piaggio have a restriction to about 10,000 rpm. The bigger wheels are less prone to wheelie than the smaller ones.

Is the C16 not the ideal exhaust for this cylinder? I will check my ratio today and let you know. Which rev limiter do you mean?
My plan is to rebuild the engine in a few weeks but I wan't to buy all the parts first before I start.

I didn't know about the rev limiter in de CDI/coil. Thank you.
I have checked my end ratio, 13,10:1 so this standard for Piaggio. Which ratio do you recommend?

That's about what most scooters are stock. Somewhere between 10:1 and 11:1 is what most go for. It will give you an improvement in top end speed. But without sacrificing too much acceleration.

Ok thanks for the info. Is it really better for overall handling or is this more a personal preference for handling and driving. Top end speed is not important for me, but if you say that it is better for overall handling and riding I will consider to change my end gears.

dutchnrg I have the SR50 Pure Jet engine that's injected, those are restricted at the ECU. You have the carved version so I can't tell you for sure. Take a picture of it and I can tell if they share and ECU. The other way is if it doesn't rev over 8000rpm then it is restricted. Malossi has some aftermarket ones that aren't restricted.

Is it running already? If not, go test drive it first. You are way ahead of things and seeing problems which might not even be there...

pinkscoot, do you wan't a picture of the cdi? Lucass2T yes you're probably right. I'm seeing problems that might not even exists. I just want to hear some opinions/experiences from people with the same setup. The engine is not running with the new setup. I will test it with the stock end gears and rad. If it's not how I like it or not running right I will change it.

Neither of my LC 50's have fans, they just want to be driven fast.
