I use a combination of printed map and sat nav to get around my delivery area and service quite a few farms and odd placed houses etc,we have had flooding and storm Christopher in the past week so I refused to attempt this delivery until Friday(much to my managers frustration) the picture does not do the situation justice a 7.5 truck bogged down to its axle (my bad)on a bridle path in the middle of a field half a mile from tarmac!! the recovery guy got stuck the next guy got stuck
Then they decided to go get a tractor,I walked off to tarmac and got a lift back to the depot, stuck in the mud at 13.30 got home 19.00 the truck??it,s not mine

Mud will slow almost anything to a stop. Except land rovers, the old ones without so many computers involved.

Been there only inches from the road in a redi-mix truck. Damn contractor insisted that I drive into a rice paddy field with a ~75-80,000# truck. I made the contractor sign the ticket after he and his crew threatened me with physical violence. It took two trucks as anchors for a winch truck to get me out. He paid for the load, damage to my truck (bent driveshaft), clean-out, demurrage time for my truck and the other 3 trucks. It was a HUGE bill and he did not get any concrete to finish the basement floor that day. I never heard what happened and how they fixed the unfinished floor.

Once the axle is bottomed out it's game over.

The truck was back this morning!!I have no clue how they got it out but my cab is covered in mud on the inside seat, floor, door cards and dash I think the recovery driver did a hippo in the field.we have a high "churn" of drivers so the mickey taking might die down in few years.

Geoff Allow me to interpret for those of us that are from the Colonies: mickey-taking (also micky-taking) Pronunciation /ˈmikēˌtākiNG/ /ˈmɪkiˌteɪkɪŋ/ NOUN informal British The action of teasing or ridiculing someone.

When I first read it I thought I got the meaning. I then looked it up and I indeed was way off. I will have to remeber that one.

Well here we go,just a choice thing half a mile of reversing the 7.5 or a leap of faith over this unmarked "bridge" and yep that's a stream under it. Geoff
