Hey all!
After re- starting my 50cc Peugeot Zenith (Buxy/Speedake) and solving some present issues, I'm considering investing a few quids it's performance. Not that I'm having any complains or want to race anyone but these Peugeot come limited due to UE regularions and I sure wolud like to unlock some extra power, should I need it sometime.
My plan would be:
- Remove the CVT limiter - Change the exhaust for an unrestricted one - Considering changing the carburetor (Currently using a stock Gurtner 12,5mm considering a Dellorto 17mm).
Of course I'm willing to spend "a few" quid but I'm neither looking to spend the money to buy another scoot on parts nor spend 5 days a week working on it in order to being able to use it for two...
Do you think these mods would be relatively cheap + trouble free and at the same time give some "extra punch" to my scoot?
Thank you!

For sure remove the restriction on the CVT. It would then work as it's designed to. An exhaust is a good upgrade. Next to a big bore, the biggest improvement in performance you can do. The Gurtner carbs are nowhere as good as a Dellorto. If your going to change the carb. I think the intake is restricted, if its like the speedfight. You will also need an adapter to fit a Dellorto, something like this. www.pedparts.co.uk/product/1192/dellorto-carb-adaptor-for-peugeot-bikesSome Peugeot scooters have a restricted cdi, limiting them to 8,000 revs. Have a look and see what is applicable to your bike. As it may vary in different countries.

From all the aftermarket exhausts, the Gianelli Extra or Gianelli Reverse work by far the best on these peugeot motors. Keep in mind, only with the stock cylinder! Forget the Yasuni R.
In my time working in a scooter shop I de-restriced many peugeot's (vivacity's, speedfight 2's, buxy's, speedake's, zenith's) and equipped tons of them with all sorts of aftermarket pipes. The gianelli's are truly excellent on these!
Teh cvt mod is a no brainer, it's free! the stock gurtner carb is fine, no need to change it.
You can do the airbox mod. There's a 2-hole resistrictor in the back where it sucks in the ambient air. You can drill it out of remove it completetly.

I dont quite get where the airflow restrictor is. Is it the pipe at the input of the airbox? (SEE IMAGE)

Hello Gonzalo, It's the part all the way in lower right corner. There's an oval shaped air intake with a plastic plug with 2 holes. You can drill those out or remove the plug entirely. Here's a pic from the other side. You can see the airbox on the right hand side. the blue oval thing is the plug Im talking about. It has two holes which you can enlarge. Or remove the blue part entirely.

You need to look inside the end.

You want to look for a restrictor like this. By sticking a screwdriver in it you can wiggle it loose.
