I got a 2008 TPGS-811 150cc scooter and can't figure out how to get to the engine compartment without dismantling EVERYTHING! I took the bolts inside the seat storage area out, but there seems to be other screws and bolts holding it in. Do I have to remove most of the side panels?
The scooter looks like a vespa or Biella. Vin info gives 2008 CHONGQING ASTRONAUTIC BASHAN TPGS-811.
I've also been unable to find ANY manuals for it. Or manual for something similar to it.

Welcome to the world of Chinese scooters. Most of them you need to do exactly that. It's not limited to Chinese scooters, to get to the engine to do a lot of things I need to do on my Aprilia SR50 I need to remove 30+ screws and multiple body parts. These scooters are pretty generic so find out who built the engine and it will help you narrow it down. I found this link to a parts supplier: get2itparts.com/Scooter-Moped-Parts/Peace-Sports/150CC-TPGS-811-150. Just take it slow and be careful of the tabs on the plastics. Feel free to post pictures and ask questions.

I was afraid of that! On the other scooters (kymco, taotao, bintelli), I take out the seat by removing 4 or 6 bolts and one screw, and have decent access to the carb, hoses, etc. This one, the seat seems to have a bunch of panels attached to it.

If anyone knows where to find an owner's manual and a service manual, if not for this exact model, then for something similar, it would help a lot. I do have the generic gy6 manuals.
