The Kymco Super 9, the top of the line 49cc Kymco scooter, Liquid cooled with a minarelli clone engine. after derestriction hitting about 55 MPH. with excellent ride quality (the best I've ever seen), A chain frame loop, tunnel box and underseat storage that has fit a full face helmet before. As far as I know its the only scooter that has a coolant sight built into the fairing, which is very handy. and the grips are quite good as are the mirrors. the main downside to the super 9 is its weight. its quite the tank at about 103kg I believe
While its not the fastest scooter in existence, its still very fast for 49cc's and it is very fun to scoot around on, I have scooters to have fun and ride around on. the Super 9 is excellent at this, and I have heard that the Kymco super 9 is very reliable, I cannot speak for this as it only has 5K km, but I can say it is very easy to work on, and the plastics in general are very high quality, and it uses front and rear disk brakes which are very powerful. Anyways I hope this helps anyone curious about the Super 9, if you have any questions just ask. if you want my thoughts on the zx50, likewise, just ask.

Mine had been previously used as a dirt bike - with tire studs and everything. With 11km everything was all stock mechanically and still ran fine. That seems reliable to me.
Only powered up to around 40 mph though.

Nice scooter. Looks in great condition. Besides 16 years this scooter is in excellent shape. I have bought some fairings to make this thing mint, just need to pick out the oem decals and a few more fairings

I have one I am in the process of getting usable again. Replaced the piston rings, and cleaned the fuel supply lines of mud. Yes actual mud. Hardened. Cleaned the carb, and could not get to run. Finally replaced the reed valve leafs with new(non-OEM) and it started to run over idle speed. Of course, now the battery died, and it is difficult to kick start without having the carb set properly. I had replaced the carb, but put the old one back on as I thought I had found the problem(with the reed valves). When it run, it goes, but getting it to go has been a challenge. Wish I knew then what I know now(about 2T) as I likely could have saved myself a lot of trial and trouble. Your machine looks like new. Really nice. tom

(hot soap and water then let it dry out) for reference my s9 fires on the first rotation of the electric start. Vid included: www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsoAhPuHy8o

I have a 2005 Super 9 LC and just ordered a new piston with rings to start from scratch. New 19mm carb and gasket set. One of the guys I know thought he was gonna make it run after it sat for a few years in a barn. He ordered a $20 carb from amazon and threw out the original one. I ordered a Naraku 19mm and hopefully with new piston and rings we get this baby running so I can just have fun. I'm looking for reliability instead of outright speed. After all it is only 49cc....Is there someplace I can find engine specs that I may need for rebuilding ? Torque specs, ring gaps, starting point for carb jets....ect ect
