Good to get it off your chest Milly. I will retire at age 67. My sister who is two years older 68! It's mad when you think wife's mum retired at 60. Wife will be 67 years old. That's damn bat sh#t crazy. I thought the older you were the younger you retired, even worse for women as they would have retired at 60yrs before the change.

You can check your retirement age here. www.gov.uk/state-pension-ageSomeone I know was talking to me about it a couple of months ago. He said only three years till I retire. Was devastated when I told him the age has anyone up a year.

Here it's a mixed bag. You can take your Social Security at 62 but it is reduced and will always stay that amount except for Cost of living increases. If you still work they take an amount tied to a pretty confusing formula. The age where it is fully vested is also all over the place, me I'm vested at 66 and 2 months. But there are also widow benefits that you can take at 60, also very reduced and you get dinged if you are still working. In the year you are vested then you only have to pay taxes on the amount. I'm currently drawing my deceased ex-wifes benefits and waiting to take mine which will be a lot more. At 70 you have to take them regardless. None of this information is clear and I heard different things so I just dug in and researched.
Now back on topic, that sucks about the rust. I'm glad I live in a bit dryer climate.

Well theres something that dont happen often. Been stood for 3 yrs fuel lines snapped off hard as a rock. New bypass imobiliser/cdi arrived just poked some bradex easy start down carb see if fire up but no removed plug and it was snapped. Thought might as well prime carb with petrol and it started and run fine! Hopefully no carb strip which will be a first in a few decades. The rattle on the video is of the bits on the ramp, my full coffee cup fell off and broke as well

Today put on floor pan, change oil and filter and headlight bulb luckily I found a led bulb I have had kicking around for a few yrs and partially polished the thing as had help make a cradle to lift with battery winch brake rollers out of the floor due to rising water table. Today we used the lift and a bit of old narrow gauge rail track that happen to be sitting around. Hopefully will finish scooter tomorrow when clip on ignition arrives and I can put the other panels on and book in for mot. On a vid of Robot's he did say at the end of vid if clip removed good luck replacing it with a smile. Maybe it will be cuss time.

I have done a few and by the time it goes in I'm so happy I forgot what I did. I think put it part way in and then get the lock in and lined up right and push it down. Being very careful not to send it to the other side of the shop. They can really get elevation and fly.

I very rarely find things that ping into the ether.I had a clip ping off yesterday and disappear.I reckons the vespa fairy takes them. ☺️

My typhoon is terrible for that. They use really cheap clips. When on the bodywork, still about a millimetre of free play. So just fall off. Nightmare.

Well the dreaded ignition lock went well. I took it for a road test and all was fine, tried to book mot but nothing till Monday. So thought best check belt as been standing a while, all ok. Put casing on and then nut on pinion shaft and shaft snapped! Looked like there was a fracture through most of it and did seem to come off easily So.....last thing tonight engine out and remembered all my engine spares went off with the other vespa last week
