Calling all F360 users! Here's a thread dedicated to showing off your scooter related Fusion drawings. Or helping your fellow 360 novice get a feel for the program. Or to skim through some ideas presented in CAD that might just work with your scoot.
Not sold on CAD stuff yet? What if I told you that you can use F360 to "unroll" those calculated 2t exhaust cones onto a flat plane so they can be sheet lasered at your local metal shop? Just bring them the 2d sheet file, they cut the parts out of the sheet, and you get back pieces ready to be rolled and welded together! You could even use F360 to help you figure out the angles to cut and splice the header to get that pipe off your cylinder to the mounting point.
Sold yet? No? Ok, it's -free- to hobbyists and home users. As in, you don't have to pay to use it. It can even write out the programs for sheet lasers, 2 & 3 axis cnc lathes and mills, and a host of other things. The "pay to use" also adds in 4 & 5 axis mill programs, ideal path structuring, and calculates structural weakpoints when designating alloys the parts are to be made from. That's a bit excess, but it's there. I like it for the drawings. My personal example, I'm trying to reverse blueprint minarelli cases to see how complex it will be to machine some castings. Maybe even make some longcase jog 90's ready to fit a flanged testa rossa cylinder. A homemade Malossi RC One per chance?
Anyway, this thread's here for you to share your Fusion 360 scooter stuff!

Been trying to learn F360 myself. The learning curve is steep, at least for this old guy Got any links to your favorite tutorials? I need F360 for dummies!

oldgeek indeed it does have a steep learning curve. the "hey, i'm a first timer" videos really suck at explaining the files in each piece of the project. once you understand how to set up the "files of this project" stuff, it gets easier and they're all soooo dryyyyyy. i don't wanna set through another lecture on nuclear physics, guys. To be fair, they all are engineering computer nerdz trying to teach blue collar wrenchers how to draw stuff up. i've been glancing through a number of videos though, and many start off with the same basic steps of making a new component even if it's one item. then defining the body of the component from there. another tip is to learn the keyboard shortcuts, it'll shave loads of time off actually drawing out items. i'll try to figure out how to throw together a video demonstration and then you can ask questions about the steps i took. maybe sketch up a piston lol

This guy does a decent job IMO. The problem I have is it is all old info. New versions of F360 have changes that make the older videos outdated.
I purchased a second video screen so I could watch tutorials and work in F360 at the same time. I do know the keyboard shortcuts, and the file structure ok I think. However just trying to draw anything is tedious. Also it is BS that the free version is limited. They have it locked down enough that they should know who is abusing the free version in any way.
