Hey guys, Just bought my first scooter and it is a bit of a project. this is my first project scooter and so far I'm loving working on it and can't wait for the journey ahead. In the process of transporting it a few tubes got disconnected and I wanted to make sure they go back into the right places. I can provide more pictures and whatever else needed but any help would be greatly appreciated! I have purchased heat sealing rubber tubing to connect them back also.

Shouldn't there be an air box on there?

Shouldn't there be an air box on there? I'm not sure, but I can provide more pictures. Where would that be? If not, maybe it's missing and would need to purchase one?

You are missing the airbox/airfilter assembly and maybe other parts. Plastic body panels may be missing or removed.
Run a compression test to see if the scoot is even worth messing with. It may be just a scrap parts bike. It may be worth running the VIN through the stolen scooter database. Did you get the title and registration papers with it?
Download a service manual and an owners manual for your scoot or something similar.
Replace tubing rather than trying to seal it.

this is a gy6 150cc so from the looks of it the 1 tube is for fuel? looks like ur missing the vacuum operated fuel pump. other line goes to it as well.
ive had so many of these i always test if motor has good compression by the ol finger over the spark plug hole trick. if u have good push back / pressure under ur finger u should have a good motor.

He looks like he has a new gates fuel line. Depending on the location of the fuel tank he may have a vacuum operated fuel pump or a vacuum operated fuel petcock. They are not the same thing.
The scoot has been 'worked on by amateurs' so it is a mess.
Skip most of the YouTube stuff and download a factory service manual. Check out Brent's YouTube channel.

fyi no gy6 150cc scooter has them on the tank atleast not in the states not a single one ive owned over 30 from 2005-2020. hes missing the pump can clearly see its missing in pics. ive had good luck directly running these with a shut off to the carb tho. also that "fuel Line" ur saying could be a fuel line but im pretty sure on those the thicker line is to the smog system they have, i dont think hes missing any lines tho never said that, just needs the lil cheap fuel pump these have. a picture a lil further away would clear some stuff up, the service manual is good but lots of good youtube channels visual learning can be super helpful.

I think whoever worked on it bypassed the fuel 'whatever' and is using gravity feed. That is a Gates fuel line used for whatever, clearly not OEM, connected to some new part also not OEM, looks like a filter. He needs a service manual. 90% of the crap on youtube is just that -crap. finding anything really useful has worse odds than Vegas. The service manuals are full of Chinglish and diagrams, but anyone of reasonable intelligence can figure it out. The 49cc scoot forum owner has some good stuff on his Tube channel, mostly 50cc though.

ive had some that ran way better with just straight to the carb, theres lots of free manuals online so simple google search would get him 1,i think the tank manual in the bottom of that list will work fine for the motor he has. but i disagree theres a ton of good info and channels on youtube. almost every modded ruck is a gy6. gy6 store has a youtube showing a ton, rolling wrench is another good 1, also that mexican guy has good videos lol. just use common sense. also the angle of the gates line is way off from the tank why i was just saying it looks like its hooked up to the wrong thing... also why i asked for a pic from further out, lol nothing is hooked up on this thing thats clear.

Finding and sorting out the 'good stuff' is usually the problem with Tube.
I have a pod filter on my 50cc that works well, in all kinds of weather and conditions, but then it was fabricated and installed by an Engineer.

I did not have to jet. I bought a performance carb that was already set up for a pod filter, worked perfectly, but I did set it up with a Vito power jet that was adjustable to add a little fuel for cold weather etc. I also set up the carb with a bowl vent to the intake horn so it would self adjust for a dirty or wet filter. Just changing jets on these carbs isn't even close to the techniques the manufacturer has to adjust mix. They have flow benches also. Kansass is wild with both cold/dry/wet and hot/dry/humid ever changing weather too. I used to ride down to about 25°F but not anymore. Most people buy the 'stock replacement' carbs left over after a production run which are cheap but unsuitable for anything without tuning which we can only do half-ass.
