Anyone else notice that Campbell's chunky soup has dropped in size by 2.5oz or 70g per can in size but the price is the same? Is this deflation or inflation?

Loads of products have been doing this for a few years now. It was on one of the consumer programmes a while ago. Apparently we would rather the price remain the same. And get less product! Yeah right. 🤔

Usually there seems to be new packaging or labeling involved during a price/quantity change, some sort of slight of hand or advertising BS. I didn't see any of that this time, just cans that were about an inch shorter.

Another thing that's been going on for years. You open a box, or packet. Half of its empty. Contents may settle in transit my arse.

When they fill containers on product lines they vibrate them to settle them. I suppose they get shaken more during transport but not that much. They just create an illusion with a big box.

I don't go out to eat at all since my troubles with my gallbladder. If I eat anything I may immediately explode in a bad way. I stay home near the john and eat canned soup or frozen dinners. This enforced isolation has been going on for over 10 years so the Covid hasn't changed my life much except for wearing a mask. I used to wear a full face gas mask every day so these masks are nothing.

oh come on you guys , you're being so hard on the rich corporate business men and women who own these products . you know these packages continuously grow by 25% quarterly . and they are new and improved. what more do you want ; what more can you ask for .you should be grateful for what we have ; just ask them and they'll tell you so . give these poor souls who break their backs maintaining their bank accounts a break will ya . after all it's a tough job running the world but somebody's gotta do it .

Try some, they are available in grocery stores as dry beans or soups. There are many recipes. Just cook them.
