Very nice and unique Buddy. Would you mind sharing the process of lowering the frontend? Thanks.

Jog 50 low down forks, the jog 50 front end has 10mm axle vs 12mm Taiwan so I bought an axle, speedogear, spacers for the jog 50. Also running jog 50 front wheel. Still wasn't as low as I wanted so I removed the springs. Eventually I'll look for some short springs because the ride is really bad...I'm sure I can just remove the springs from the stock buddy forks and get similar results but I wanted to run the jog 50 wheels and aftermarket hub.

Good looking scoot. What did you end up using as a side stand with the lower stance?

Nice looking bike I love the rear wheel and how you trimmed the panels.
When you speak of JOG50 front endsI understand the whole 12 mm verse 10 mm axel, I'm pretty sure that's what my rexy and Rex have on my bikes the Rex has a wider fork might be a tad taller too. but I have really wanted to change the whole front end to something that had better dampening against potholes and have a sturdier handlebar setup. I was going to just switch out the bars though as I have no idea on what front ends will even work out on my mopeds can I assume that since everything else is that the diameter of the whole.on the frame for the stem is also the same and I can just order one for a jog? I have a heavy duty nice CPI front end but I want something low and not ultra heavy you know a few pounds up front will help but I wanna be able to man handle the bike up a hill If I run outta gas.

Action Bro!!!! I seen the Hawaii License Plate, where you at?.. I'm stoked to see someone with a buddy 50 build. I had recently got a 2010 Buddy 50, the problem was the guy who had given it to me, said when he bought it, he rode it twice and it never started after that. That was two years ago. Between then and now, he decide that he would use it for parts and started to take it a part. Long story short,my moped is in literally in pieces down to the frame..So, I decided to have a project.
Do you have any advice, as far as problems you ran into on your build? I'm taking my time,I want stretched cruiser

Please do not take this the wrong way. I am not the safety police: As much as I love a lowered stance, removing your springs completely is dangerous. Forks are not meant to function bottomed out. Springs are meant to suspend the weight of the vehicle. That is their function. If you have to grab your front brake quick, suspension helps maintain mechanical grip of the tire. Without actual suspension and in an emergency stop situation, there is no buffer between the brakes doing their thing and the tire locking. This is an extreme similarity of running front springs that are way too high of a spring rate. I had an XR-100 mini-moto with a front end that was waaaay over-sprung. I low-sided it in situations where the same bike with softer forks performed well. I've experimented a bit with the NCY forks but haven't attempted lowering them. Lowering these should be similar to lowering any conventional full size motorcycle fork. The trick is to cut the spring and get a PVC spacer to take up the slack on the other side of the plunger. It's fun to focus on the motor building and tuning, give your suspension some love too. Wet rag rant over! Keep up the good work!

The motor i have isn't f om the Buddy so I wouldn't be able to help much. But id say put it back to stock and make sure everything is working and running before you throw more money at it to modify it. Unless u know what u are doing modifying a bike thats already apart before u got it is risky and can be very $$$.

Im putting the springs back in the vibrations from 50mph to 60mph are irritating me. This bike is just a cruiser not really race/fast build so I figure try out the no suspension life like the old school jdm scooters.

A few months ago I let my friend ride the buddy while I rode my dio so we could cruise. But while leaving my driveway he jumped off the curb instead of going down the ramp... Smashing the header of my exhaust. Then while turning out of the neighborhood he leans the bike over like a motorcycle to turn onto the road smashing the pipe further and causing an exhaust leak. Limped the bike back to my house... He gave me $$$ to replace the kn planing exhaust. Waited a few weeks for it to come in from Japan. After installing the new exhaust on going on a long test ride I noticed the bottom of the fuel tank was kinda wet. Wiped it down and ch checked back in the morning. There was a puddle of gas under the bike. Im guessing the tank got cracked when my friend went off the curb and bottomed out. At this point i just rolled the bike into my shed and didn't want to even look at it. Fast forward to this week. I was able to get a used fuel tank assembly from a friend who works at a mooed rental shop. They rent out buddys and had a crashed one with frontend damage. He sold me the tank for $20. Score! Installed the tank and she is running again. Just in time for Halloween. Lol the buddy is back f om the dead again... My beach cruiser is back on the road
