A friend of mine used to pour feed corn piles out daily in his yard and then you could go sit in his sunroom and watch deer and geese eat about 50ft away. It was very cool, but had to be expensive to go through the amount of feed that he did daily.
I see them in my yard occasionally, but I live on a 50MPH road so I watch on the edge of my seat to some degree.

Yeah, having a dog in the yard will definitely affect the visiting wildlife. After my last dog pasted, in started getting common to walk around the corner of a shed and be face to face with something, deer, coyote, bear, skunk, racoon, etc. Plus they are all tick factories. I liked it better to see them from a distance.

Plus they are all tick factories. Ticks == Lyme disease.
I picked up a deer tick in a park in KCK along with Lyme disease. Luckily I saw the tick and removed it but the Lyme disease showed up shortly. At least I recognized the infection and got it treated fast.

I'm not particularly fond of the ones that complain, so I bay back from time to time. BAHROOOO!!!

I must confess I talk to the squirrels also. We can have a nice long conversation. I just mimic any noise they make. It agitates the hell out of them, just like talking to trolls on the internet.
