'New' cars always cost an additional thousand to fix the things that the PO traded them in for. -Sometimes more.... Even with some sort of 90 day warranty.

You just can't keep away from the Peugeot brand Milly. If it's not two wheels, it's four! 🤦 Hopefully it it's from a garage, they will replace it free.

The mechanic in the garage where I do my scooters sold it to him and is back Tuesday and going put new altenator on it. He's a genuine bloke to customers more than can be said of some. I didn't think about that aeroxbud it being a Peugeot as well. Me having to drive it back from town with the bonnet raised slightly because of the jump pack on the battery. Seats so low you can hardly see where you going.😊

I was very tempted FrankenMech to go for the other Peugeot diesel he has that does 56 mpg round here and more on a run on the open roads. But I refrained from it.

You are learning also. One of the problems with almost all of the late model used cars is electronic and gadget complexity. An automotive environment is NOT a good place for electronics or 'gadgets' and failures happen all the time. The military and aerospace organizations have learned to deal with it but intensive maintenance and high reliability hardware is involved. Cars and scoots not so much. Parts and connections break and wear out and few 'good' replacements are available. The old engineering triangle comes into play; 'good, fast, cheap, -pick two'. Figure out a car or scoot 'lifespan' in hours of operation and you will come up with some very ugly numbers compared to industrial machines.
