I did a search but didn't find any recent posts on games.So,how are you situated regarding gaming? I am glad I'm a late adopter.Last spring I managed to get a ps 4 after searching around a lot.I also got a 4c 8t 4770 cpu and a Radeon rx 570 8GB Vram. I also upgraded my RAM to 16 GB. Then everything regarding graphics cards and the new consoles went to hell.Nvidia cards in particularly hard to find. And it doesn't look like it's gonna get better any time soon. My ps4 and pc are going to keep me going for a while.It's been a blast. I grew up in the arcades with asteroids and space invaders consoles were everywhere. Galaga and asteroids deluxe were awesome in the arcade. So what's your gaming situation? Are you set for a while or are you trying to upgrade? Use this thread if you need to vent! I don't game anymore. I sold my Xbox 360 in 2013. Too easy to spend too much time playing Call of Duty so I cut it off totally. The last game that I played was Borderlands 3 because it came with either my mobo or processor. I used to play the first & second a ton and couldn't resist trying it. Unfortunately, since my crash I get nauseous trying to play the FPS. I would have definitely got caught up in it and played the story through otherwise, but after a few attempts that always made me feel sick, it just isn't worth it.
That said, I get it about the GPUs. I was going to try to upgrade my 1050Ti, because it's the weak link in a system with a good mobo, CPU and RAM that I use for video editing. I didn't buy a GPU with the rest of the PC build, because I figured that part is so easy to do later and I wanted to focus my budget on getting a quality mobo and top of the line (below specialty level) processor. There's just been nothing out there to upgrade to unless I want to pay a small fortune from scalpers or overpay for a small upgrade to a 1660 that's available occasionally. I thought maybe the 3000 series nVidias would have enough that I could snag one, but I was wrong. I looked aroudn a little recently and it sounded like MAYBE summer 2022 things would start to be more available... but MSRPS may be going up substantially as well. The damn digital currency miners have wrecked the GPU market.

I hear ya Brent. I loved Borderlands 1 and 2, pre sequel was meh and 3 I got to the second boss and quit. Had a long run tho.My brother can't play FPS shooters either because he gets sick and nausea too.
A couple years ago I thought I was done with video games in general.I thought: weel I played games for about 40 years and maybe I just outgrew them. Then I got Half life 2 ,The last of us and Tomb raider 2016 and shadow of tomb raider and they sucked me back in.I guess I'm making up for Nintendo style games now since I've been playing little ninjas and Untitled goose game . So silly but so fun.
Between the scalpers and mining the video card market is nuts.N vidia et al better be careful they don't sacrifice fast profits for now for long term goodwill to the public.I read a lot of tech sites and some people have simply gave up trying to get hardware.They better be careful or people will simply get a dfferent hobby.

Nintendo is just classic stuff. I had a Sega master system back in those days.It was a lot more successful in Europe but it was hard to get games here in the USA.Then I had a genesis with all that sonic fun.

Along with my Nintendo, I have my gameboy, sega genesis, Sony Dreamcast and PlayStation. Never got into any of the new stuff.

Ya there's a lot of people that love 007 on Nintendo.I played it a bit way back when my buddy's kid had it but got distracted by party materials.I've mostly been a ps player. PS 1 thru 4.A couple years ago my son gave me his 360.After making some holes in it for it to breathe I went thru The Halo's,Forza and Gears of war.Was great fun.
My older brother had a colecovision back in the day.Awesome graphics but we only had Donkey Kong JR.It looked great but the gameplay was sorta meh.

I still totally enjoy Diablo 1 the original game of the Diablo franchise. I played 2 for awhile but totally love being a sorcerer in D1.

Captin I just saw Diablo 1 is getting a resurrection(re Master it seems) but couldn't easily find the specs needed to run it. probably my favorite game series is called S.T.A.L.K.E.R.(survival game not regular stalking)The newest one is coming out next April.So I go to steam to find out some details.Christ there's so much FUD and drama it would make a 13 year old girl blush. It's gonna be awful because Micro soft helped them with funding!A few irrelevant bits and baubles for pre ordering is half the game!The unreal engine will not allow modding! False;and the original X ray engine would crash to desktop if you looked at it wrong.Good God I'm glad I don't like other games like I do STALKER.The posts are just madness.Talk about toxic gamers.I'm a pessimistic person but come on give the game a chance before you deem it awful.

 😉 That said, I am friggin stoked for Forza Horizon 5. I absolutely suck at modern gaming, but you give me Forza, Burnout, Midnight Club, or Need4Speed and suddenly I can hang. Caught the preview of Horizon 5. Beautiful is not a word I use for games very often, but it certainly applies in this case. Also plus 1 to Diablo. I am all about the loot. And of course Borderlands - Diablo with guns. Both excellent series. |

Man I spent so many hours on Gran Turismo 1 -6.Many hours in NFS,burnout ,Forza etc.too.Sounds like Diablo was one of the first game to introduce the shoot loot mechanic. I still love games like that.

I spent many hours off my life playing Grand Prix on my windows 95 machine. I built a steering wheel setup using 10-speed handlebars and headset bearings, made gas and brake pedals with higher spring rates in the brake pedal. It was a hoot.
