I used to use these all the time when I was a kayaker, so why not for rain/weather proof backpack? Been using for over a year and no complaints at all. Roll it up 3X and sling it over your shoulder, never need to worry about your stuff getting dirty or wet. Very inexpensive and effective solution for a gear bag. I have a 10L version which cost about 16 bucks on Amazon, and as you can see from the photo can hold quite a bit. In this bag there is a ratchet kit, tire plug kit, bicycle pump, screwdriver, pliers, set of wrenches, dead low hammer, 16oz bottle of oil, couple rags, couple extra shirts, and a set of Frogg Toggs rain gear. There's room for more as well. I packed all this pretty loosely. The bag has sling strap. Never had an issue with it riding up or becoming uncomfortable. If you go with 20L or larger, I believe those have back pack straps. Anyway, I am a huge fan. This is my every day bag. I'm likely going to grab a larger one for long trips. I went with HEETA, but there are tons of different manufacturers. I chose translucent just in case I had to take it into a building or event that required a clear bag. There are also many solid colors and designs available. Coke can in picture to give perspective.
