I was in the throbbing metropolis of Minot,ND to see family over the weekend. A relative of mine drove up in a Dodge Black widow. I'm not much of a truck guy but that thing is cool.Just big and dumb fun.Couldn't look under the hood cuz it's so damn tall. But......every time he stops he has to pull a fuse or the huge display in it will drain the battery. This thing cost more than 75000 dollars. And with the silicon shortage they won't be able to get him a new display anytime soon. I told him about my experience with Chrysler vehicles;some of the engines and tranny's will take a beating forever but their fit and finish is sometimes bad. not very good. He's a great guy and I hope it's not a nightmare for him to be an early adopter.I told him to save every scrap of paper/documents regarding the beast.

I hadn't heard of those either, but looked 'em up and I see that SCA does Black Widow packages for all of the big truck brands. Looks like basically they take a new truck, lift it 6", put on 35" tires, skid plates, and other shiny bits plus black widow logos here and there, and then raise the price of the truck about $30,000. When they get to the diesel trucks with the Black Widow package, you're looking at near $100,000. Not being able to fix that thing is ridiculous. They can get parts to turn out new trucks to make a big profit, but once you sign the paperwork they don't care enough to make sure you don't have to look like a tool pulling fuses every time you park for more than a few minutes. For a $75,000-$100,000 price tag, it sounds like they should include a AAA membership so you can get free jump starts.

Yeah if I had dumb amounts of money for a vehicle I'd just get a 68-71 or so Buick Skylark and get a 455 stage 1 Buick engine in it.That would still be cheaper than 75 large even with all the other go fast pieces I'd get.I just hope his truck isn't a lemon.

If I had dope amounts of money to spend on a vehicle I’d just, well, fix what I had into perfect. It would cost a small fortune.
