Hello all! After having my 155 back together for a few months now, Ive set my mind on some things. First, its so much worse than before. The new frame and suspension doesnt at all make me feel like im on my old bike. Lately ive been wheeling with some pitbike guys, and the 155 is just too much. Its big, the rear end moves around a lot, balance is terrible, and its just too fast to really keep pace with pitbikes. Often find myself having to focus more on slowing down than actually wheeling. Its not my Taotao, its so much worse than before. The motors slacking. So, next week, a guy is gonna come take her off my hands. Id love to keep it, but I think I got whatever closure I needed after the crash. So, instead of my usual "buy someone elses bike and sell it when I wanna switch up", Im gonna build one for once. Weird right!? This poor Peace Sports belonged to my aunt, who passed in 2017. Our family has been iffy since, and in that, me and my sister bought her scooter back so it was safe. But thanks to poor care prior to us and even worse care at a shop, shes sat in the garage since April with what Im gonna diagnose as just a tired motor. Super slow, just tired. I was wanting to fully 100% restore it, but even I cant justify that kinda nonsense for a chinese bike 😂 So, with selling my 155, Im going to turn it into my ideal stunt bike. Ideally itd be a Vino, but Kentucky sucks and the market is ass. Shes gonna get paint, new tires, and a lil spice from partsforscooters. Now, I would have shot for the scooterswapshop kit, but I think the 50mm would be better for longevity. Plus I dont need the big 24mm carb and stuff. Just need to be able to get cross town to the rides, maybe do mid to high 40s and cruise with 40mph traffic decent. Heres the list: Sspg 50mm kit with head, sspg cam 19mm cv carb (basically stock carb/intake) Naraku variator Clutch springs (we shall see if theyre necessary or not) Ebay pipe cause theyre cheap and not horrendously loud Hope the stock crank holds and I dont oil starve it with wheelies. Gonna run her rich so she stays cool at least. Couldnt do much tonight, but I did put my old 155 bars on cause I like em more than the stock Y bars. Gonna go led lights obviously, no flashy turny boys or mirrors or any of that fun safety stuff. Maybe a rubber duck with a helmet on the bars 😂

The 155 is sold, so Im gonna order stuff tomorrow. Budget got slashed again, so im gonna try out this amazon 50mm kit. Its dumb cheap and ive heard pretty good things about it. Should get here next friday. Got new wheels and tires but the shop I will not be going to again tightened the back wheel with what im guessing is a pneumatic impact. My full weight on a socket wont break it lose and my imapct died, though it probably isnt strong enough anyways. Variator nut is also stuck on.
But the top end is torn apart. Looked good, not sure why the motor was so weak. Crank seems good at least from the top, so just gotta scrape the gasket off the case and wait. Paint is probably gonna be soon. Turquoise with black, the silver wheels. Gonna look super good I hope. Thinking about naming her Vern (aunt Lynns real first name was Verna)

Fuck that e bay exhaust chop the back of that stock muffler off gut it and pack it tight with steel wool. Cut a 3 or 4 unch hole in the cut off piece and in inside fasten like some metal something like chicken wire to hold the wool in and weld back on. It sounds way better than the ebay shit and my bike is noticable faster with this than any other exhaust I've tried u can adjust sound by how much wool u pack in I get comments everywhere I go that it sounds sick

But I found a video of the kit im buying, tbh it sounds like my Buddy 150 with the Prima pipe. Might just run a stock pipe to keep it quiet for neighborhood stuff but i dont think 45-50 mph is gonna happen with a stock pipe

After two days of long, painful work, I got the new motor in! The big bore kit is still on the way, but I needed more parts anyways. So we'll put that 50mm kit in my buddies bike. But for now, I put the (what im guessing is a 47mm big bore) motor in my aunts bike. Its not super quick, and the motor needs tuning, but its not blown up so its good. This motor was from the white bike I bought a few months ago. Bought it for 400, sold for 700, then just bought it back after being crashed for 300. Motor, controls, and tires/seat. Had to rewire the stator wires cause the plugs were different. Took 2 hours to get the motor in by myself with no jack or lift. She runs and (probably) rides though. Melted 2 starter switches trying to rig up a starter button, as the old head cluster wont fit on the bars. So for now, jumping the solenoid with a screwdriver to start it. Gonna rig up the lights next, swap to the black front wheel and all that good stuff. Heres how she sits as of now though! This motor is pretty perfect for wheelies. I wish it had more midrange pull, but if i can pop the stock 50 up at 20mph, this thing should come up

Soooo.....big bore kit came 2 days early. Had it installed in like, 1.5 hours. So far, nothing but good things to say. Only took 8 kicks to start, runs great, starts first kick. Exhaust is kinda loud, but eh. Its a bit faster than my big bore QMB as of now, the torque lasts longer whereas my motor just revs to make power. Imma say its probably either a 47mm kit or a bad tune. Just threw a new 18mm carb on so we shall test that tomorrow

Put a 21mm oko flat slide carb on there honestly I think changing to the oko carb made pretty much same difference in power as the big bore kit did man the throttle response and mid range power is crazy

So, eventful day. Swapped the rear tire. Exhaust holes were basically completely stripped out, somehow managed to jam some bolts in and get them to catch. Sounds maybe like it has a tiny leak but its not backfiring or running bad. New carb is night and day, runs flawlessly. It took off on me as I was trying to start it after putting the pipe back on, bitch dragged me and hit our firepit and stopped luckily 😂. Lights, panels, new seat, new tire in the rear, shes basically 100% now. When i wheelie it likes to kinda get cockeyed. This bike did that before but im surprised it still does it. Maybe where its so light? Idk. But the big bore Taotao got done yesterday and we ripped em a bit. The new one acts more like a dirtbike, torque holds longer. But from a lil race while the Taotao does get ahead, mine walks it after that. Guess shes still gotta break in 🤔
