Facebook score! Ended up getting for 60$ delivered! He had it listed as a Chinese ATV but from what I can tell it's made in Taiwan (So atleast it's ok) Did more digging and I'm pretty sure it's a 2004 SMC 100cc 2 smoke! Engines locked up sadly, it's also missing the carb and key (as well as some smaller stuff as well) Gonna be a fun project for sure, it's gonna stay a trail ripper since my buddy's got atvs now too.

Got the top end off, she's rusty! Cleaned it up and put some mmo, gonna wait till tomorrow to see if I can get er loose. Also, 50mm bore! She's 100cc

this quad needs a new carb, im debating on whether or not to go with a 21mm flat or go for the 24mm? which one do you guys go with?

Well, got it running!
ended up just dumping some MMO in there and let er sit all day, after a bit of finesse it turned over!
hit it with some starter fluid and brake clean, she fires right up!
still need carb, sprocket, and handlebar clamps to get er going!

alright! seems like a ring is stuck, as it get compression, goes down to 65psi, then goes back up to roughly 105psi.
i ordered all the above, had to weld the kick start as someone had drilled the kickstart shaft, which caused it to break.

Sorry I'm late. I would replace the stock carb with a 21mm DellOrto PHBG for basically a sport level 100cc build. If you have more ambitious plans for it, then maybe go larger.
The best 103cc that I've had was a 45mm stroke crank, 54mm liquid cooled bore (should be OK with AC), 190ex/130tr with piston crown flush with port floors at BDC and exhaust port opened up to 65-70% chord width, don't recall the squish or combustion chamber cc but I'm sure it's in T2's thread somewhere. Malossi OR CVT, 11:1 gears (no idea how that translates in the ATV world), Peace Pipe, VFORCE 3 reeds, Polini 25mm intake and DellOrto 25mm PHBL carb. It peaked around 10-10.5kRPM, which is pretty much where a lot of the big strokers seem to want to quit (believed by some of us to be from relatively small transfers for the application.
I've ran many that revved a little less than that, peaking more like 9-9.5kRPM, with a 21mm Dell and stock intake (ported to make sure it's not restrictive). The 21mm Dell tends to fit much more like stock and makes everything easier. You may even get away with the setup above and the 21.

Well, got it running! The 24mm carb is a tad large, however, it seems to work properly for what it is. I've got a 105 jet in there and seems to like it best (on the bench that is) I'll be ripping it with my buddy's for a Field test hopefully this week. Still waiting for the handlebar risers and the air filter, other then that it's ready to go!

it runs!!
HOWEVER I'm having a issue, guessing it's the jetting size.
It's a 105 main and it has what I believe is a powerjet.
When I'm lauching at WOT, it runs good with good pick up, but when I get into the higher rpm range, it bogs, I have to go to half throttle and it gets better. I'm assuming this is a jetting issue. I'll test it out once I get to field testing (possibly next weekish)
also the intake is currently a restriction, since it seems to taper down to around 17ish mm from the 20ishmm thats at the surface.
once i do some measuring, ill order a unrestricted intake (thinking roughly 34mm OD should work) and some new reeds (thinking fiberglass, cause why not)

ordered new reeds, and a big boy intake for the 24mm carb.
still trying to figure out if it's possible to make a halfway decent pipe for it out of a dirt bike pipe, but that's a whole other story.

UPDATE: upjetting from 105 to 115. The bike runs good now! i feel like its a bit rich, however, it is a scolding hot day (100f in MN) so i will leave that jet in to compensate for when we ride in a more normal temp range (ie, 60ish)
