I found an old DIO AF27 in my dad's garage. It doesn't work. Tried kickstarting it many times, it doesn't work. Someone previously suggested me to clean the carb first. Now I am a big noob at this stuff but I want to learn. How can I remove the carburetor? There looks to be some wires or something to it and tubes, I don't see any screws, there is alot of dirt, can I wash it all off or is it better to remove the carb first?. Also there's an air filter attached to it, do I remove that too and clean that sponge inside of it? I have a carb cleaner and WD-40 bought just in case. Attached an image of the carb and the air filter.

Remove and wash/dry the filter, remove the air filter box there should be tabs underneath to the transmission case, remove the clip to carb and give everything a wash, label the pipes to the carb and remove, unhook the solenoid wires, loosen the carb to engine clip and it should slide out, careful with the accelerator cable it "looks" like screw cap to me.you may as well remove. the body panels off the back end, this is fiddely hidden tabs and screws all over its a major pain to learn but they all slide and clip together some how, brute force is not the answer guile and cunning need to be deployed.

Clean the scooter first. Your just going to get dirt inside the engine. The jets have small holes in. A grain of dirt can block them. Draw a diagram and make notes of where the pipes come from. The cable in top is the throttle cable. It should unscrew. Then the slide will pull out.

In case u need to buy parts that looks like the horizontal af34/af35 motor. Not an af18e like a super dion af27 would have.

the wires are probably auto choke just unhook those lossen the tab on the intake boot pulled carb pull off air filter. Clean everything inside of the bowl Wash air filter out with soap and water dry and then spray on air filter oil or any kind of oil you have will work
