So, It has been some time now, after my last post. I decided to buy a normal high quality scoot this time and ditch the Chinese POC scoots for good. I did choose this lightly used Aprilia SX50, with some mods and restrictions removed. I did let the CEO put on the secondary mirror for safety. It had only left side on and no right mirror. COOL!Let us know how you like it.. Well, I need to learn how to ride, with manual gearbox. I used to ride regular 2-Stroke and 4-Stroke scoots, with no manual shifting.

I did the first test ride too. It was scary, because my first time riding a 6 speed manual geared bike. I stalled the bike like 5-6 times. I did swear a lot. lol. This is video of the bike just running on Neutral gear:

Good choice, they are a great bike. So many tuning parts available for them. Yeah, I did a research already. But Im not gonna change anything right now, bacause it is upgraded from 50cc to Malossi 80cc cylinder kit, with 17.5mm carb. I did took my first longer ride today, to my workplace. The engine did die on me one time, because my beginner luck, driving a geared bike. But it is ok, I just need to practice. I did change the odometer from miles to km, so then I would not be stopped my police, when my speed is 50 (50mph= 80.5 km/h). In city that is speeding and I do not want to get a ticket, on my first rides. Soon I will do a ride video too, with my Sena 10C or GoPro Hero4 Black, when I have free time.

I noticed on the picture, that grooves on the front tire are faceing front, and rear ones faceing back. Is that normal or is the front tire backwards? I tought, that maybe that pushes water away from the engine, so water would not get to the intake. That is the reason, why the grooves on front tire, are faceing other side. Am I right?

I can imagine it's tricky getting used to a clutch, and gears. Just have to be smooth. Having ridden geared bikes for so many years I had forgotten what's it's like.I A lot of people will be in the same boat now. As most 50's are automatics.

I quess, you see in that video, the mirror image of yourself, when you started riding geared bikes. There is a saying: Practice makes perfect. I think, I will fix the front wheel thing on my Baotian, what is working and then sell it. I do not have need for that scoot anymore. The other project Baotian, I will keep.

I started off on geared bikes when I was 9 years old. Didn't get to scooters till nearly 30! Better late than never. That sound like a great plan. One nice reliable bike. And a project. 👍
