Just got this 2018 Buddy a few weeks ago. It had almost 1,700 miles on it, clogged carb, loose and dirty electrical contacts and a broken ignition switch. With it barely running and having loose body panels, It almost didn't seem worth the $300
After working on that stuff, I did a cvt checkup and saw some wear on the stock rollers and drive faces along with a bit of rubber dust in the case. Cleaned up inside and put it all back together, leaving out the oversized spacer.
After all that, a new ignition switch($111), spark plug($6) and fuel filter($3). Runs great now and reaches 45 in what feels like 30 seconds. Thinking about lighter rollers, maybe even those ones with the funky shape.
Seeing as I'm new to all this, I'm all ears if someone has any tips to offer.

On the desktop version of the page in the search bar type “buddy” and browse through. Check in the builds folder. Some members here are modding them and can offer advise.

I tried the mobile version, but I'll have a look at the desktop site. Thanks!

best bang for the buck The NCY variator with some 6 or 6.5 gram sliders gives better take off and its like 50 bucks . Scooterworks.com or NCYstore.com are vendors I have used multiple times . They have belts also and jets in case you grab a pipe .
If you want to go farther than that a Expansion pipe Yasuni Z Yasuni R are a big upgrade you will need to get some jets Skip the Scooter works pipes they are not a big enough upgrade for the dollars .

The Buddy (PGO) engines are awesome. Ported and trenched from the factory, fiber reeds stock, even the RoughHouse has a slanted top piston to extend exhaust timing. I've built a few Buddys that will rip the front wheel off the ground...
Question is: what are you looking for out of this scoot?
