Hey all! I just began working on an issue that affects everyone. Surely in the USA, but may be happening elsewhere.
That is, the latest attack on small businesses that supply parts or technology that supply the racing industry. There is a change in how they are "claiming" what comprises a race vehicle. New wording has it that ["vehicles, designed and built for DOT street use, cannot be modified in any way for racing purposes"].
I saw a YouTube video about a Colorado business fined $18+ thousand for selling "Hondata 3" chips for racing purposes. It may be in appeal...I hope so, but the impact globally is massive, if not stopped or compromised.
The deal for me? We build highly efficient 2 and 4 stroke engines for racing. I KNOW that most of them exceed EPA regulations, with the question being their new found application and small business attacks. Weird that the manufacturers are not being provoked. Japan, Australia, China, many European suppliers still selling, but locals slammed for their efforts. Ground up attacks???
Our own assistance is currently in dirt track...EPA E85/90 or pure methanol engines. Same with some bike efforts and even research in aero applications for unleaded avgas. My point is that these are almost all cleaner than EPA specs.
The stories are mounting on You Tube... I just joined the effort to support H.R. 3281, the “Recognizing the Protection of Motorsports” or “RMP” Act. I have contacted my Montana Representative...who co-sponsored the bill, so I can find a way to support this. (Matt Rosendale)
If you are so inclined, please go to the SEMA or PRI sites and take a look at the work they are doing. Join the effort, if you can.
This is just the beginning...next is beer regulation

As I am sure you know, the EPA is way to powerful. They have laid claims to so many things. Things like the water in the ditch you may have on your property, yes the EPA owns it whether you know it or not.
I am a co-owner of a small business HVAC company. The proposed changes for the HVAC industry may tie our hands beyond belief. Where does this all end?

I’m a faithful follower of Cleetus on YouTube and he was trying to help stir the pot to help friends who are getting hammered with this bullshit epa reg crap. The amount of pollution the tuner community puts into the air is nothing compared to the 9-5 commuters. I sent my officials in Congress the “form letter” offered up and happily sent my name/address along for the ride.

Yeah, as a firearms enthusiast, welcome to the game.
The main reason there hammering small businesses is that they cant fight back, the same reason ATF sends "letters" to small firearms dealers telling them what they can or cant do since they know people cant fight a multi-million dollar government cooperation.
I know they got a few kinda big businesses already (flow master comes to mind) we need to fight this before it gets worse, like REAL bad. We already get washers welded in are 2 stroke pipes (due to euro regulations), wait till they try banning them altogether.

Same old poop the world over start on the small fry then convince Joe public that it's all the fault of the small fry then ramp it up bigger with a few smoke and mirrors tactics elsewhere and next moment it's law.

I read the bill.It seems like it repeals a law that hasn't been enforced in more than 30 years.Various camshafts, air filter, exhaust mods, and performance chips are for off road use only.I've never heard of a cop pulling over a hot rod (besides noise laws which are local, not the EPA) saying 'hey nice car.It sounds like you have more intake and exhaust duration on the cam you're running. We're gonna take it to our garage and check to make sure your cam durations are the same as your stock cam calls for on behalf of the EPA'.I hav'nt heard of that happening.Ever.Hack politicians gonna do hack shit. Biden's middle name is Robinette not Stalin.I'm sure plenty of 12 year olds that would find that funny. And what did you guys smoke that put you in a coma for 4 years while lil' orange Benito was running amok with his grift?Oh I know. Blame the media!Don't look at the court documents that prove the grift. Politics are banned for a reason.

You've seen Paul Verhoeven's Total Recall? On Mars they raise taxes over clean air. I've always thought that might as well happen here too at one point.... Well here we are. Time and time again I get totally amazed by the laws they have/come up with the USA. But even more the excellent side effects they hbring that totally overshadow the benefits and for some reason nobody had foreseen
