So, to go along with the phantom electrical gremlins, my bike developed an annoying bog off idle. I thought its due to the cold weather so I decide to goof with the idle mixture and idle. When I was tooling with the carb I saw the manifold from the airbox to the carb looked sort of wack. . . . Hmmmm sez I, not good. :jaw: So I check things out. I have always suspected this bike was a parts doner for the dealer and they slapped it back together and put it on Craigslist just to get rid of it. This just adds to that feeling. One screw that appears to be Eton issue was backed out and the other was a screw that looked like it came out of the bottom of a tool box was too long and bottomed before it tightened up on the box. The box has been rattling around like crazy, enuff to crack the manifold and separate it from the box. This, and the spring clip that is way too loose was letting crazy amounts of air into the carb. So . . With no scoot shops who have parts in the area, I get some LocTite silicone sealer/glue and put the box back together, seal up the manifold crack and use hose clamps to attach the manifold to the carb. Before that, I took out the main jet and drug a guitar string through it to widen it up a little. After fiddling with the idle, I check out my handy work and the bike runs great again ! :riding: Nice crackle when it racks off, nice chocolate brown plug. he he he . . . Hillbilly tech :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Very nice. I know Ernie Ball is good for tuning guitars, never knew he could tune a scoot. ;D
"What size jet is that?" "Extra slinky."

Ha ha ! tip: Nylons prolly would'nt work, and be careful how you unwind them so you can use them again after you're done with yer carb . . .
