West York co. Scooter Riders is a small group on FB. 26? members. Went for a ride with one of the guys who lives close to me today. He has a 150cc Ruckus. Rode 33 miles. First time I’ve ever ride with somebody else. It was awkward and fun too.

You have to be very aware of what they are doing. Never ride right behind them. If they are on the inside, ride toward the outside. It's good to share your passion with someone. 👍

It is a bit odd to ride with others when you're used to strictly solo. The main thing to me is don't crowd anyone so everyone can maneuver without worrying where someone else is constantly. Also, don't feel force to keep up or do things that you wouldn't normally do. Ride in your comfort zone and you can always meet up later if someone is faster. Waiting a few minutes for someone to catch up is way better than waiting for help after a crash.
If you find someone that thinks like you, it's a great experience. When I met Ryan and Brandon from the forum for the first time, our riding styles all clicked very well and I had fun the whole time with little worry of who's doing what. Definitely more mirror/shoulder checking when moving in a lane, but we really should check anytime we move around anyhow. I've rode with Ryan multiple times since and it's always stress free and I look forward to it. I think if riding with someone makes you uneasy, there needs to be a discussion to see what can change. If everyone can't be happy, there are other riders out there.
If you get a chance for a big group ride; I say try it once. I did it on the TMAX with mostly a whole lot of Harleys for a terminally ill veteran. It was interesting. Can't say I have any great desire to do it again, but I'm glad I tried it once... plus a good cause in that case.

It wasn’t bad but we had no set route. Every intersection was a guess. His Ruck micro taillights were annoying to try and see. Both bikes evenly matched for speed though so that was good.

Hey, You still riding around York County? Check out the Twisted Taps Collective - twistedtaps.org (we're also on FB)
We have several members in York County and do monthly rides to various breweries in the area - around 60-80 miles one way, but some shorter ones earlier and later in the year. We'll be going to Columbia next month (November). We also attend a bunch of rallies in the region and do a whole lot of group scooter events. Love for you and anyone else in the region to come and join us.
Stoked to see some PA folks.
