Handy Carrier Take your almost useless lock box and turn it into a handle carrier. Remove the door. Cutoff appox. 2-1/2" ( I'm sure you can cut straighter than me. ) Reinstall the bottom part. Use two small screws to secure top. You will be surprised, how handle this is.

I like it! I rode a scoot like that for a few years and I never used that compartment hardly ever cause everything falls out when you open the door.
Great job! :thumb:

I like it! I rode a scoot like that for a few years and I never used that compartment hardly ever cause everything falls out when you open the door. Great job! Here's an answer to that. The spring was a little heavier than I wanted but it was all I could find laying around. I had to stretch it out til it's tension suited me. I did have a tiny fabric covered bungee here but it frayed away. Pop rivets hold it in place. The center rib of the glove compartment is recessed enough to allow the door to close. Those are my clear night riding eye protection on the left and my 12v air compressor on the right.

Yeah that helps. I saw another guy put a piece of netting across there to keep everything from falling out when you opened the door. I kept my registration papers in there.

Please note the section of clothes hanger employed as the glove box door hinge pin.

I'm thinking a metal bracket running on the inside an inch below the top would be better to screw into so the screws go in straight. It would be stronger that way too. you screw the bracket into the sides of the compartment as shown in my crude diagram below. Then you screw through the door into the metal.

If you just want to carry drinks one simple thing I've seen is thick foam cut to fit under the seat snug with a couple of holes for drinks. Holes are made a little small so it squeezes the drinks. Foam has to be a few inches thick. If you want a cup holder that can do open beverages you need one on a swivel or it'll spill when you lean. www.google.com/search?tbm=isch&as_q=swivel+cup+holder
