2013 Daelim Message 2T 50cc
1. Engine will start up really well, first time every time.
2. If you start it and drive away immediately, and give it full throttle, it will almost stop, then go, then almost stop again, then go. It will then continue to go although you can tell that it is not getting the proper fuel/air that it needs to run correctly.
3. After 10-15mins of the engine running, it will run perfect. The engine will take the throttle at any position and run smoothly.
I know I need to clean the carb well to include the jets. But I am wondering if the auto enricher is not working correctly? The engine is fine after it is at operating temp. But is clearly getting either too much fuel or air when it is cold and not warmed up yet.
Does the auto enricher for a 2T scooter lean out the fuel mixture or add additional fuel to the fuel mixture? I ask because I thought I heard on a scooter video that it actually leans out the mixture. I know a traditional choke adds fuel, like on a chain saw or weed eatter engine.

Do not know if this is related or not. I filled up the gas tank, parked using the lean to the side kick stand instead of the center stand. I came back outside from the store about 15-20mins later and gas was dripping out of an open ended tube on the bottom of the carb. A fairly good size puddle had formed on the ground. The scooter started fine and ran good on the way back home.

Alot of auto choke 2 strokes are real fat until till warmed up . I let my scoots warm up to 140 degrees plus by the temp gauges takes less than 5 minutes . They still gurgle slightly for the first hit of the throttle by 100 feet,.
The rich mixture is all cleaned up and they buzz like a champ.
Your pilot jet circuit most likely need to be cleaned up .

By "pilot jet circuit" you mean the pilot jet in the bottom of the carb correct?

yes the smaller of the 2 jets will be the pilot jet they get gummed up easy enough from old gas . Take it out run some carb cleaner through it and poke through the holes with a thin wire.

On my scarebeo 150 and Znen 150 I had that problem. I upped the pilot jet and raised the needle, Adjusted the A/F screw and the problem went away.

Removed the carb, and removed the carb bowl. I then removed the main jet and ran some wire and/or paper clip through all the carb holes. Did the same to the main jet. I didn't see a pilot jet that could be unscrewed like on my qmb139 carb. Put it all back together, and turned the air fuel mixture screw in half a turn. If I let the scooter warm up a few mins in the morning it runs like a champ.
I also changed from 6.9g roller weights to 9g, stock when I received the scooter was 12g. The top speed is 40 or more on flats, it held 35 going up a large hill.
I can feel the CVT "change" gears around 30mph, and the engine sound goes down slightly at the same time. The scooter will then keep going up in speed.
Would an after market exhaust help speed up that "changing of gears" and make the acceleration more quick and smoothe? It already has a pod air filter.
