Been needing to scratch my itch for another build for a while. So, on a whim. Bought 2 bikes over christmas. Neither running. Super clean red Peace Sports 50 for 50 bucks, and a really janky beat up Dykon Fugati (50cc VIP style bike) for 75 bucks. Was originally wanting the peace sports to wheelie cause I thought the VIP would be too long and bulky. I have my 155cc VIP and that bike feels decently sized to wheelie. 12 inch tires, long compared to a 50, kinda unruly except youre on the back wheel going straight at a decent speed. What bike i didny keep was getting stripped for parts for my sister to fix our passed aunts 50. I wanted to give the VIP a chance though. New carb, airbox and new gas......figures I fall in love with it even as I was about to tear it apart 😂.
Kick start, electric start, headlights, tail lights, and horn all work. Runs almost perfect and is genuinely almost more fun than my 150 sometimes. Im sorta over the "loathing slow bikes" phase the more I ride with the mini bike group. She got all new plastics today, way better shape than the old ones, aired up the tires, honestly for 75 bucks it has no right to be as good as it is but I love it. Does between 35-39, cruises between 25 and 30. It wheelies surprisingly good for a stock 50, just cant hold top end power well to carry a decent speed wheelie.....that changes soon 😂
Ordered a setup from partsforscooters. Trying to go a little cheap since its gonna be a beater/stunt ped. Universal 47mm bore kit, carb jets, rollers, new belt, and a 1500rpm center spring. Gonna try working on my tuning more. Stock carb, airbox (maybe), stock exhaust for quietness, stock variator, stock head for a lil more compression. No cam or anything yet. Hopefully i can get the cvt dialled with that 72 kit. 50 is probably a stretch but ill be happy with anything at or over 45. Cruise speed like 35-40.
Last 2 bore kits i installed were SMM kits. First a 50mm. Bike started slowing down bad after about 2 months and trying to retune. Latest was a 47mm (they changed and kept the price the same??). Piston had a chip so we ended up having to use a beat up 50mm i had laying around. SMM isnt horrible, but id rather buy from a better supplier this time around and do more with less. Just need her to rip enough for good wheelies and response up till about 30ish.
75 for the bike, 160 for the kit....id say were in pretty good shape so far!
Before the new panels, first test ride:
New panels, kinda bad still taken from a video:
