I have been coveting this 24" wheel bmx/stunt bike for years I got for my son for birthday. I could not order myself one as the supplier I use stopped doing them. Today he said can I sell it for him so I am going to have it may even end up swapping for it some old coins I collected as a youngster which he was going to price up. I shall look into electrifying it but don't want to ruin the cosmetics of it

Nice! I ordered a 24" Standard Byke Co 125R frameset back in August. Still waiting on them to finish building it. I have owned a few 20", but this will be my first cruiser.

I have never owned a 24". My first bike was a 26" I got for xmas when I was 6. You may want to invest in a new chain... They are cheap enough.

I am surprised how well most of it has stood up well to rust being by the sea it helps with the wheels and bottom bracket having sealed roller bearings. Not sure what the headstock bearings are but they turn freely. Think to have electric power will have to be friction drive which use to be cheap but alas that is not the case now. They not the best for tyre life or in rain but not that important really to me. The spec on it seems quite good too. Funny I just seen someone asking £999 for one 😆 www.freeagentbmx.com/02-devil24-07.htm

A hub motor on the front wheel wouldn't be too bad. Everything will have to be disassembled, cleaned, inspected, greased/replaced, and reassembled. £999? You have got to be kidding... The advert says $359 and that is stupid high MSRP. $359 is like ~ £49.

BTW, if you remove the cartridge bearings like they show on most Youtube vids it trashes them and they must be replaced. Driving a bearing out by the inner race dents the races and balls causing the metal to spall and the bearing to fail. I have seen hundreds of bearings fail that way. Some of them pound themselves away to dust. Improper bearing installation and removal causes many bearing failures.

Yes i have seen people doing that with bearings FrankenMech don't do them anygood at all. Well today had time to give the bike a quick check over and free the chain till a new one. Rides really nicely, wish I could say the same about my old knees ☺️

My old knees are one reason for the E-trike. Riding down a flat trail is OK but up hills is a F-. The old worn out parts actually get physically hot. Riding an old single speed 26" bike with 54:11 tooth sprockets didn't help.
A little sand paper and some silver paint to match the frame would help the handlebars. Using aluminiuminum foil and vinegar or electrolysis may help with other rusted parts and fasteners. Sea air really gets to metal. There always seems to be so much work to do. More work means more time spent at the coffee shop.
