hi all.
so this is a dirt cheap build. as cheap as possible.
because its the only one i could find for a acceptable price here in québec ( everyone went full crazy on scooter price lately... 2006 yamaha bws blown engine no paper and need inspection for $2400 cad ? NO WAY )
what i wanted was either a 2 stroke bws or a damn taotao pony/atm 50. but none available in canada and i think they never been sold here. dammit !
alright so its a very rare model. according to both quebec SAAQ and usa DVM , it is actually UNIQUE in north america.
i dont see why they would lie in such a long research they did ( 3 weeks )
also very hard to find in europe ( its a chinese, european market model ). its been imported by the owner before the owner that i bought it from.
its a 2009 Maverick Viron , 13 inch wheel , read disc brake , 139QMB , generic model HT50QT-36.
this generic model is completly useless because almost none of the parts available fit mine. maybe the brake lever i'm not even sure
seller asked $550 cad for it. got it for 350.
so many thing was wrong with it... only the engine was good. literally only the engine.
but it was still in better shape than those $1500-$2000 cad yamaha's. yup people went crazy as fuck.
anyway after fixing 6937104896071760356872956 things , it ran good for the whole season. well by good i mean it never elt me down but had some problems. the variator and clutch were rusted. i dont know how but rpevious owner managed to break a part of the variator. sadly i didnt notice that before the end of the season. always been wondering why it didnt work like other 139qmb around but never opened the cvt before. rusted variator and clutch , broken torque spring , broken clutch "leg" and shoe , rusted clutch bell. i have no idea what hell this scooter lived in. it was stored for only 4 month nothing to damage it like that.
had no money to buy everything and even if it was working bad , it was working at least. so i ride it like that for the whole summer.
about 2 month before storing it for winter i tried drilling stock ( i think they were stock... ) rollers to get higher rpm than 4500.
it did work. but only up to 5400 rpm.
finally got some money and i bought a naraku sport variator. W O W. what a f*****g new scooter ! now rev to 7200 very stable and hit 60 km/h on flat and 56-57 elsewhere. i also ordered a cheap complete clutch. it didnt geive my much gain , but the feel was a new machine again. after that i became a bit colder outside ( 10-15c ) and the carb was acting up. leakign everywhere , not holting idle , keep the rev after revving it for 2-3 second then drop to stall , fuel elakign from the airbox and so on. yup i knew jetting wouldnt be good. saved money for a naraku 18.6 racing carb.
when i received it i called the dealer askign why it was smalled than the stock one. he said its a racing carb he doesnt need to be bigegr to perform better. seems to be confirmed everywhere i called about that.
sadly its damn too cold to do anythign with it ( -25 -30 c in the middle of the day ).
i also have some money for a bbk , which i ordered. it was a nightmare too but its ordered now.
next step is getting my hand on a cvt cover and a kickstarter kit.
i had way more picture before but i lost 90% of them in a google photo migration. FML.
i planned to paint it green and black , but i didnt notice i ran out of paint and hardware store was out for 2 month.
not gonna paint it outside at -25c LOL.
i refused 3-4 offer for it. from $1200 to $2500 cad because its unique. but what the hell will i buy after.. there is literally nothing beside yamaha in worse shape for $2200$. f*** it. and mine is ready, inspected, and registered.
EDIT : more photo found in the cloud from enterior date , early spring ( 2 weeks after purchase )
and the famous rear wheel...................... no word. PS its fixed by a professional wheel shop now.
