Another 1989 yamma razz problem

So picked the scooter up at a garage sale the basic problem is it will run at idle but giving it any gas causes it to die out. Ive gotten a new fuel filter I've changed the gas in it and taken the carb apart and sprayed and poked all the holes, now this is my first scooter this old and from what I can tell it might not be the original carb and some things look different from what I can find on other scooters so any help would be nice. I'll post the picture I have once I can figure out how to do that.

The black cylinder looking device on the carb I have no clue what that is and it came unplugged because it's not really wired to anything and from what I can see on the diagram s I'm missing a petcock and the line for the oil and gas to mix unless it's a different engine and that why the carb is different?

Do you have a airbox if not that would be a major reason for trouble running.
The black cylinder thing on top of carb is auto choke mechanism if not plugged in it would be stuck open and cause it to run rough .
That is a lot bigger carb than stock .

Your vacuum petcock was removed and replaced with a simple shutoff valve. That should work fine.

I can see the oil line attached to your carb in the photos.

I think the carb you have is the generic chinese jog50 carb that costs around $20. I have no idea how well that will work, but it works on the riva jog.

Get the airbox and i bet it'll throttle and run at least okay. I would wager mainjet is way too big right now so that is also a likely problem.

Get a new sparkplug too.
