Yes there is just one restriction in the head pipe . The jetting you have will work fine with the pipe . I set the variator so it shifts at 8k and it peaks in the low 9's I used 6.5 gram sliders to get in that range with a stock contra It makes good power from about 7.5 to 8.5 k rpms
For clutch springs I use the medium clutch springs to give me a spunky take off

I’m running 5g sliders in a stock Zuma variator, 107mm 3 shoe clutch w/softest springs (+500 I think), & a malossi white contra spring. Seems to run well but I have 6g sliders & plenty of rollers if need be. No tach on this one so just going by feel. Is there a better belt as the stock one seems a bit short to max out the pulleys. Probably leaving a few mph on the table there.

The stock belts biggest advantage is it lasts for more than 5000 mile To maximize the cvt I swapped to a larger belt 2000 miles ago Malossi x special #6112741 specs are 796 x 16.5 x 30 It has worn down to 15.6 mm I will change it when she gets below 15mm Full belt travel with the malossi variator up front and stock torque driver out back. The variator has been shimmed to get below 1mm left on the variator

Going to the Zuma variator with the smaller boss helped but I’m sure not sitting like that. I didn’t measure but I’d say at least .25” on the rear pulley is left. It was more like .5” with the factory variator.

Perhaps you need to shim the variator out a little?

The belt is getting all the way to the boss. I ordered the malossi belt Zino is running.

Went ahead & ordered a top performance variator too. We went riding this evening & it needs more. It’s topping out around 42mph. Hopefully the pipe, variator, & belt will get it to 50mph. My Zuma just walks away from it so she ended up on mine & I ended up on the slow one.

After the pipe and the variator . From 0-30 she will match you or possibly beat you those little tires sure help with acceleration. After that you will start to pull away .

Added the new belt & went to 6g sliders & gained a solid 3mph. Hopefully the new pipe & variator will get me 5+.

Pipe came in. Removed the restrictor & mounted it. Took it for a ride & hit 49.7. Slight downhill but same hill netted 42.3 before the pipe & belt. Still waiting on the variator but if it adds another 1-2 we’ll be money.

Got the variator today but I can’t get it to do right. Getting a ton of belt slip. Tried my factory belt & the new malossi. It maxes out the rear pulley & appears to ride all the way down to the boss. I ran it with & without shims but it was the same. Only tried the 7g rollers it came with. Went back to my Zuma variator & it didn’t slip. What gives?

Did you clean it before installation? Sometimes there is a thin film of oil on machined parts. Otherwise check the length of the boss against your old one. Make sure the variator can slide in and out freely. I would also compare the travel to the stock one.

So before I sold my Zuma I took the malossi multivar off it & swapped it onto the vino. It added about 2mph so the vino will do an honest 50 now. We moved back to town from the county so it keeps up with traffic on most roads just fine. I also added a 90/90-10 front tire. It was rubbing a little so I had to add 2 washers on the passenger side to get a little clearance but it’s been fine since.
